IMO APC YOUTH LEAGUE COMMENDS UZODIMMA, APC ASPIRANTS; CALLS FOR UNITY AFTER SUCCESSFUL PRIMARIES

The Imo State chapter of the APC Youth League, has commended the Governor of Imo State and leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, Senator Hope Uzodimma, for his leadership and efforts in fostering unity and reconciliation within the party following the successful conduct of the party’s primary elections.

The youth organization also applauded APC aspirants across the state for their maturity, loyalty, and commitment to the party’s collective interest, urging members to remain united ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking to journalists in Owerri shortly after the Stakeholders and leadership meeting with the Aspirants, the State Coordinator of APC Youth League and South-East Coordinator of the organization, Dr. Promise Okolie, described the recent stakeholders’ meeting convened by Governor Uzodimma as a strategic post-primary gathering aimed at reconciling party members and strengthening internal cohesion after the conclusion of the primaries.

According to him, the meeting provided an avenue for party leaders, stakeholders, aspirants, and members to reconnect, address grievances arising from the primary election outcomes, and reaffirm their commitment to the APC’s shared vision for electoral success.

He noted that, while not every aspirant could emerge as the party’s candidate, the spirit of sportsmanship and unity demonstrated by participants reflected the strength and maturity of the APC family in Imo State.

Dr. Okolie stated that the APC Youth League remains committed to grassroots mobilization, voter sensitization, and door-to-door campaigns to ensure the party’s victory in the 2027 elections, beginning with the re-election bid of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and extending to the National Assembly and State House of Assembly elections.

He expressed appreciation to former aspirants who have resolved to support the party’s flag bearers, describing their actions as a demonstration of loyalty and dedication to the APC.

The youth leader further urged party members to emulate the resilience and commitment of the Imo State APC Chairman, Engr. Austin Onyedebelu, who remained steadfast despite previous electoral setbacks before eventually emerging as state chairman.

According to him, the benefits of party membership go beyond securing elective positions and include opportunities for service, leadership development, and contribution to the growth of the party.

Dr. Okolie maintained that the outcome of the stakeholders’ meeting had further strengthened the unity of the APC in Imo State and positioned the party to effectively challenge opposition parties in future elections.

Meanwhile, Governor Hope Uzodimma has commended former aspirants in the recently concluded APC primaries for demonstrating loyalty, maturity, and commitment to the party by supporting candidates who emerged as flag bearers.

The governor gave the commendation during a post-primary stakeholders’ meeting held at the Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu International Conference Centre (EIICC), Owerri, where party leaders, stakeholders, candidates, former aspirants, and members gathered to review the outcome of the primaries and chart a united path forward.

Senator Uzodimma praised the peaceful conduct of the primaries, describing the exercise as a testament to the APC’s commitment to internal democracy, fairness, equity, and proper zoning arrangements.

He expressed satisfaction with the overwhelming support demonstrated by stakeholders and urged party members to close ranks, remain focused, and work collectively toward securing victory for the APC in future elections.

The governor also expressed confidence in the prospects of the party at the national level, stating that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu would secure a convincing victory in the 2027 general elections on the strength of the administration’s reforms and achievements.

He reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening the APC in Imo State and ensuring that the party remains united, focused, and strategically positioned for continued political success, in which the APC Youth League, Coordinator, described the commended move as a harmony and prosperity for the State Party. He further described the Governor Senator Hope Uzodimma as a leader with capacity.
