CHILDREN’S DAY ADDRESS BY THE EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN, IMO STATE UNIVERSAL BASIC EDUCATION BOARD (IMSUBEB), HON. CHIDIEBERE EGBOH, ON THE OCCASION OF THE 2026 NATIONAL CHILDREN’S DAY CELEBRATION — TUESDAY, 27TH MAY, 2026

It gives me immense joy and profound gratitude to join millions of Nigerian children today in celebrating the 2026 National Children’s Day. On behalf of the management and staff of the Imo State Universal Basic Education Board (IMSUBEB), I warmly felicitate with every child across Imo State and Nigeria at large.
Today is not just a celebration of childhood; it is a celebration of hope, dreams, talents, possibilities, and the bright future of our dear nation. Children remain the greatest treasure of every society, and investing in their education, protection, and welfare is the surest pathway to sustainable development.
This year’s celebration reminds us all that every child deserves access to quality education, proper healthcare, security, moral upbringing, and opportunities to thrive regardless of social background, religion, ethnicity, or economic status.
As Executive Chairman of IMSUBEB, I reaffirm our unwavering commitment to strengthening basic education in Imo State through improved learning environments, teacher development, digital innovation, community participation, and child-centered educational policies. Recent efforts by IMSUBEB continue to focus on creating safer and more conducive schools for our pupils across the 27 Local Government Areas of the state.
I sincerely appreciate the visionary leadership and continuous support of His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma, Executive Governor of Imo State, whose administration has remained passionate about repositioning the education sector through infrastructural renewal, educational reforms, and strategic investments in the future of our children.
To our dear children, I encourage you to remain disciplined, focused, respectful, and committed to your studies. Believe in yourselves and never allow temporary challenges to discourage your dreams. The future belongs to prepared minds, and education remains your strongest tool for greatness.
To parents, guardians, teachers, and stakeholders in the education sector, I urge us all to continue nurturing our children with love, moral guidance, and support. Together, we can raise a generation that will make Imo State and Nigeria proud.
As we celebrate today, let us renew our collective responsibility to protect every child from abuse, violence, exploitation, drug addiction, and all forms of social vices. Every child deserves a safe environment to learn, grow, and succeed.
Dear pupils, continue to dream big, work hard, and uphold values of honesty, excellence, and patriotism. You are the leaders, innovators, professionals, and nation-builders of tomorrow.
Once again, I wish all children in Imo State a joyful, peaceful, and memorable Children’s Day celebration.
