An Imo State born business magnet, Comrade Paschal Okechukwu, (Cubana Chief Priest), has formally inaugurated the City Boy Movement (CBM) in Owerri Imo State in pledging his outright support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid and declaring his own intention to contest for Orlu, Orsu and Orlu East Federal House of Representatives seat in 2027.
Okechukwu, who serves as Imo State Director of the City Boy Movement under the Renewed Hope agenda of the President Tinubu’s administration, Inaugurated the movement on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at his residence in New Owerri to sanitize the people ahead of 2027.
The event, which coincided with Valentine’s Day celebrations, attracted a large turnout of youths, women and political stakeholders from the 27 local government areas of Imo State. Students from various tertiary institutions across the state were also in attendance.
The City Boy Movement is a youth-driven political support group mobilising nationwide backing for President Tinubu’s second-term ambition in 2027. With his appointment as state director, Okechukwu is expected to coordinate youth engagement, grassroots mobilisation and political sensitisation across Imo.
Addressing supporters, Okechukwu emphasised the importance of constructive political participation and greater youth involvement in governance. He described the movement as a credible platform for young people to channel their aspirations within the framework of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), while contributing meaningfully to national development.
Observers described the launch as a significant political development in the state ahead of the 2027 general elections, citing the impressive turnout and orderly conduct of participants as evidence of Okechukwu’s influence among young people.
Political stakeholders at the event commended the peaceful atmosphere and smooth organisation of the ceremony. Media organisations, including ThePressman Newspaper, covered the event.
Reaffirming his commitment to President Tinubu’s re-election, Okechukwu pledged to work with members of the City Boy Movement and other stakeholders to secure victory for the President and APC candidates in 2027.
He also formally declared his intention to contest for the Orlu/Orsu/Oru-East Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives under the APC platform. While appealing for his constituents support explained that it’s not yet the time for Election Campaign but sanitation and Empowerment time as he promised an effective, bumper Empowerment based representation and quality legislation if elected.
Okechukwu expressed appreciation to Seyi Tinubu, founder of the City Boy Movement, for appointing him as Imo State Director of the group.
Speaking on the forthcoming elections, he stated, “It is better to be inside the government than to be outside,” and urged the Igbo community to support President Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid.
He described his appointment as an opportunity to deepen youth empowerment initiatives and broaden political inclusion across Imo State, assuring supporters that the state chapter of the movement would sustain empowerment programmes while working towards electoral success in 2027.
The highlight of the event was the donation of over 10 mini Buses to the Crowd using a Raffle draw system and instantly given out to the beneficiary.
He urged the winners and beneficiary to take home as a Private ownership as luck smile with them in the Spirit of the global Celebration in Commemoration of the Valentine’s Day to use the vehicle and better their personal economy and preach the good news about the re-election of the President.
