In an inspiring demonstration of leadership with compassion, the General Manager of the Imo State Environmental Transformation Commission (ENTRACO), Hon. Anthony Anyaehie, (Big Shark), on Thursday appointed 10-year-old Miss Amadi Onyinyechi as “General Manager for a Day.”

In a Press release from the Agency Private Spokesperson, Comrade Darlington Ibekwe, stated that the symbolic appointment took place at ENTRACO headquarters in Owerri, where Miss Onyinyechi, a Primary 5 pupil from Ihitte, Ngor Okpala LGA, Imo State, was given the opportunity to sit at the helm of the agency.

She received official briefings from senior staff, toured the offices, and gained firsthand insight into the workings of the commission.

Beyond the symbolic leadership experience, Miss Onyinyechi was awarded a full academic scholarship—from her current class through to university level—personally sponsored by Hon. Anyaehie in his resolve to facilitate the State governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma’s shared Prosperity agenda.

The encounter that led to this heartwarming gesture began earlier in the week, when Hon. Anthony Anyaehie while on official duty to decongest the busy Amakohia Road and issuing notices to roadside traders. There, he met Onyinyechi’s mother, Mrs. Constance Amadi, who operates a small POS (Point of Sale) business in the area. Moved by her resilience and the intelligence displayed by the young girl, the GM was inspired to take a personal interest in Onyinyechi’s future a leverage to assist the indegent one in the society.

“ENTRACO’s mission goes beyond sanitation and urban order. It is also about uplifting lives and giving hope,” Hon. Anyaehie said during the symbolic handover. “Education remains the most powerful investment we can make in our children, and Onyinyechi’s future must be as promising as her potential.”

The initiative has received widespread commendation as a remarkable example of people-centered governance. Hon. Anyaehie’s gesture is being praised as a model of leadership that blends discipline with empathy and a genuine commitment to community development.
