The well-attended birthday celebration, held on Monday, 14 July 2025 at Rockview Hotel, Owerri, was organised by distinguished sons of Assa Ancient Kingdom — Chief Evans Reward (Chairman) and Chief David Egbula (Secretary) of the planning committee. The event brought together an array of prominent personalities including traditional rulers from across the Niger Delta, religious leaders, top Imo State government officials, members of the clergy, the Assa Royal Council, friends, well-wishers, and members of the press.
Speaking during the event, Engr. He highlighted Eze Assor’s unwavering commitment to peace and development across Assa, Ohaji/Egbema, and Imo State at large.
“His approach to leadership is rooted in competence, transparency, and integrity,” Engr. Nwulu noted. “We wish him long life and good health, and we pray that our relationship with him continues to flourish. We are committed to upholding his vision and ensuring he never feels disappointed in us.”
Also speaking, Eze Engr. Marcel Iheanacho Uzuegbu (Okata II of Ofekata Autonomous Community, Mbaitoli LGA) and Secretary of the Owerri Council of Traditional Rulers, extolled Eze Assor as a principled and passionate leader, dedicated to fairness and excellence.
“We are gathered to celebrate a man who consistently strives to do what is not only good but right. We wish him many more years in good health and impactful service,” he said.
In his remarks, Chief Oluchi Odika, an indigene of Assa Ancient Kingdom, praised Eze Assor for bringing peace and development to the community.
“Odozi Obodo II is a blessing to us. As a former Chairman of the NDDC and a respected figure in Ohaji/Egbema, he has used his experience and influence to advance the interests of our people. Today, we give thanks to God and celebrate a rare gift in human form,” he said.
In his response, Eze Emmanuel Assor (Odozi Obodo II) expressed deep gratitude for the love and honour shown to him by his people, the state, and fellow traditional rulers across the Niger Delta.
“I am overwhelmed by this demonstration of love, not only from my beloved Assa community but also from across the state and beyond. I thank the members of TROMPCOM, G36, the Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers, and our Chairman, Eze Imo HRM Eze Emmanuel Okeke, for their support,” he said.
