Sack Perry Opara From Imo State Government Excos ADC Urges Uzodimma
*ADC has Called on Governor Hope Uzodimma to immediately Sack Chief Perry Opara the incompetent Chief Political Adviser and Head of Political Bureau because of his Leadership Ineptitude, Sycophancy and Mediocrity.
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has carefully read the baseless defense of Chief Perry Opara – the Chief Political Adviser and Head of Political Bureau to the Executive Governor of Imo State on the issues of the recent tyrannical martial directives by the Governor of Imo State to the Twenty Seven (27) Local Government Council Chairmen and the three hundred and five (305) Councilors asking them to immediately Relocate to their villages and operate from their to office or they resign. While ADC is not totally against these Local Government Council Chairmen and Councilors living in the Communities, we are against the tendency and pretense of the Government of Imo State not to know the security realities on ground in many communities in Imo State now. These Local Government Council Chairmen and Councilors are aware of their unpopularity, the hate and rejection they are passing through on daily basis in their respective villages and communities because of the mode of their emergence as Local Government Council Chairmen and Councilors through the disputed process of the Local Government Council Elections of July 2024 in Imo State.
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) believes that the best way to lead is to lead by examples. On the above, we therefore wish to encourage the Executive Governor of Imo State, the State House of Assembly members and all Political appointees serving under this present regime of His Excellency Senator Hope Uzodimma to immediately relocate to their villages and communities and operate from their to work so we at the grassroots will feel their good impacts. Furthermore, We are also aware that Chief Perry Opara doesn’t live and operate from his village as Chief Political Adviser to the Governor of Imo State. We cannot continue to pretend that things are working well at Communities just because we are serving as political appointees and would want to please the desire of our employers.
The position of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) on this matter is very simple. First, His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Imo State should first mandate all the twenty seven (27) Local Government Council Chairmen to immediately build residential quarters for Chairman and Councilors at the Local Government Council Headquarters, provide all the need facilities and amenities needed for effective discharge of their duties. Secondly, the State Government should create the enabling environment, mandate and support Traditional Rulers and President Generals (PGs) of Communities to immediately set-up Volunteer Vigilante Squad in every community with directives to them to regularly comb their forests etc. Thirdly, the State Government, Local Government Council and Political Appointees must stop further Political interference or meddling in Town Union Politics.
