IAWPA places Umuokanne Community Ohaji Egbema LGA Most Peaceful in Nigeria

The International Association of World Peace Advocates (IAWPA) says it is pleased to announce that Umuokanne community in Ohaji Egbema Local Government Area of Imo State has been recognized as the most peaceful community in Nigeria.

This distinction according to a statement signed by Amb Emmanuel Nkweke the International Spokesman of IAWPA is a testament to the community’s commitment to harmony and tranquility.

The statement says Umuokanne under the commendable leadership of His Royal Majesty Matthew Chiedoziem Nwokoma, a retired Senior Police Officer and IAWPA member, Umuokanne community has consistently demonstrated a strong culture of peace and cooperation which is evident in the non tolerance of criminality and other associated vices found in other communities in the country.

The community’s peaceful disposition has earned it a reputation as a model for conflict resolution and community development.

To celebrate this achievement, IAWPA’s International Management Council will be installing a borehole project in the community. This project which is part of the observation of the United Nations World Water Day, aims to provide access to clean water, improving the overall quality of life for community members.

The statement also stressed that the 6th reign of His Royal Majesty Amb. Dr. Mathew Chiedozuem Nwokoma has witnessed several peaceful activities leading to international organizations recognized by the global community honouring his community as the most peaceful in the country.
Furthermore, IAWPA has made arrangements to nominate Umuokanne community into the United Nations Peaceful Communities Forum. This recognition will be published on various UN platforms, promoting the community’s peaceful disposition and serving as an inspiration to other communities around the world.

“We are proud to recognize Umuokanne community as a beacon of peace in Nigeria,” said Amb. Emmanuel Nkweke, International Spokesman of IAWPA. “This achievement is a testament to the community’s dedication to harmony and cooperation, and we look forward to continuing our support for their peaceful initiatives.”
Amb. Nkweke also said the commissioning of the borehole will take place on Thursday the 22nd of May 2025 and it will be performed by the World Peace President Amb. Per Stafson. The event will also witness the issuing of most peaceful community certificate to Umuokanne Ancient Kingdom.

Meanwhile the International Director of IAWPA Amb. Prof. Chidi Ehiriodo has called on the international community to direct their investments to the community considering their peaceful disposition. He said any investment made in the community will enjoy community protection and also yield good returns.
