Recently, the public are washed by the social media allegations of nefarious activities of a police Inspector, Chika Innocent Okebata, mostly from the media handle of Mr. Chinonso Uba alias Nonso Nkwa and few others, which was made without indepth Journalistic Investigations as the Self acclaimed Journalists aired unbalanced news gibberish as such action was not only prejudice but a sabotage to the noble profession.
Speaking to Newsmen against the backdrops of Nonso Nkwa’s vituperative
Statement, Mr. Solomon Orji said that the little he knew about the profession,
Journalism entails going to the field and gather the news Source or sources and respond to the accused by facts checking from the other side to ensure that it’s balanced. It’s called objective journalism not biased or brown envelopes.
Orji recalled that before the recent insecurity scourge in Imo State, Ohaji Egbema Local Government Area has been under serious attacks and Restiveness orchestrated by the activities of rivalry cult’s groups.
According to him, Seven persons were allegedly killed the same night at Mmahu Egbema Community necesited urgent interventions and the Young Man, Inspector Chika Innocent Okebata from Imo State Tiger Base then Anti Kidnapping Units was drafted to the area because of his sound knowledge of the area and it’s terrain and since then he was able to hold firmly to his duties and insecurity that ravage some Council in the State do not affect the area of his Operation Ohaji Egbema and Oguta Local Government Areas, giving kudos to his top notch in the issue of security of life and property in the area.
He pointed out that, Okebata (Kill and Bury) was equally drafted to help to arrest the insecurity situations in some part of the State as Inspector Chika Innocent Okebata (Kill and Bury) indeed deserves a State award.
Orji further stated that, it’s appalling for, Mr. Chinonso Uba, (Nonso Nkwa) and his cohorts to discredit the good work of the Police Officer by smearing of character and painting him black without endeavor to complain to the appropriate authority and Illegally going to the Social media and radio stations to defame the personality by tarnishing the image of the person without carrying out indepth Investigations as it behoves on who Alleges to proof.
On the Issue of Hon Chigozie Kingsley Omuruka and the allegations of being attacked by Insp. Okebata at Izombe Community Oguta LGA while trying to carry Palliatives donated by, Hon Eugene Dibiagwu to Obile Community in Ohaji Egbema Local Government Area of Imo State, Orji said that the leadership of the area need to investigate the claims and get the root to stop future occurrence.
He mentioned that Kill and Bury with his team are over 25 persons that panel beated him without any trace of injury and no official doctors report as regards to the injury. Nonso Nkwa should try to find out the truth in any reports before him and nothing but the truth and avoid sentiments.
It was certainly clear that Hon Omuruka and One Ndubuisi Obido were not only dragging for the ownership of Authentic PG Obile Autonomous Community but are in a serious contention over the President General seat as a result fight brokered between them resulting to both the military and police descending heavily on them.
Omuruka’s case, according to him, became different when he allegedly brought out a knife which he earlier used to hit Inspector Chika Innocent Okebata in the left hand side forcing the police officers on duty to insist to arrest him for unlawful in possession of Arms before he was released to the Former Imo State, Niger Delta Development Commission’s, (NDDC) Commissioner Prince Henry Uzo Okafor. Inspector Chika Innocent Okebata is a serving police officer with address and the public knows the place to lay complaints if he goes contrary to his work and not on the social media, Newspaper or radio stations.
Mr. Solomon Orji, said that the flimsy allegations are coming from those who want to return Ohaji Egbema Local Government Area to it’s usual Restiveness and Killings ground because they are benefiting from the incessant destructions of life and property.
He expressed confidence in the gallant effort of Okebata (Kill and Bury) who has done much to strengthen security of the Council for the interest of the State government and should be rewarded for laying down his own life for the people to be in peaceful cohabitation and harmony.
