Senator Patrick Chiwuba Ndubueze, Monday following Easter in Owerri, the Imo State capital, said he has attracted to Okigwe senatorial Zone he represents in the National Assembly within less than twelve months there, federal road projects worth more than N162 billion naira.
The roads include Aba Branch/Okpuala road: N45bn; the Okigwe/Umuelemai road: N67bn; Ugwuabiam/Isinweke road: N50bn, claiming that these roads are a part of a total of seven roads that have already been captured in the National Budget.
“Those are my projects. We have about seven roads in the national budget,” he boasted.
He, therefore, took a swipe at those critical of his representation, saying they are writing balderdash.
“Most people have just decided not to do anything except writing rubbish on the Facebook. That’s the truth,” he fumed.
The senator stated these while receiving in audience ‘APC State Executive and LGA party chairmen from Okigwe Zone.’
They included the Okigwe zonal chairman, chief Kenneth Nwachukwu; the deputy chairman (State), chief Dan Ogu; the state secretary, Patrick Chikezie; the deputy woman leader (State), Hon Ndidi Emeghiebo; State Youth leader, Hon Udoka; and the State Assistant Organizing Secretary, Hon Dr Basil Ekweke.
Others were the State Auditor, Hon Brendan Njenje; the State assistant youth leader, Hon Promise Awuzie; the State ex-officio member, Hon Allen Enwerem, and three LGA chairmen.
Senator Ndubueze also regaled his guests with the five bills he is pursuing in the Red Chamber which he informed had passed the First Reading to include: ‘a bill in Cancer Research and Treatment Centre’; ‘a bill for a Federal Medical Centre, Okigwe’; ‘a bill on Federal University for his alma mater, which presently houses the School of Engineering Campus of the Imo State University in Umuna, Okigwe, among others.
While assuring them of his continued collaboration, the senator appreciated them for their support during his election.
He made it quite clear that the promised palliative rice had not been ready, urging the leaders to always verify whatever claims he makes.
Earlier in his speech, Nwachukwu said they had come to congratulate senator Ndubueze on his good work; to put heads together with him to strengthen APC, to further demonstrate their support for him, and consolidate in their expectations from the senator.
The emissaries also doffed their hats for him for overtly living up to his electioneering promises which include the power station in Okigwe Local Government Area which they described as a reality. They also commended him on road construction and rehabilitation projects for the senatorial district.
Both the campaign director-general of senator Ndubueze: Hon Greg Owuamaman and the deputy, Ethelbert Nwachukwu witnessed the courtesy call.
