Journey of Grace: How Eze Madumere’s Symbol Ideology Shapes His Quest for the Owerri Zone Senate

Former Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere, MFR, remains one of the most prominent political figures in Imo State, with many of his supporters describing his political philosophy, popularly known as the Symbol Ideology, “The Journey of Grace” as a model of leadership anchored on service, empowerment, inclusiveness, and grassroots development.
Madumere, a former Deputy Governor and PDP 2027, Senatorial Candidate from Owerri Zone, has continued to attract attention across the state owing to his long-standing involvement in public service and his advocacy for equity and justice in political representation.
Political observers note that his senatorial aspiration for Imo East Senatorial District (Owerri Zone) ahead of the 2027 general elections is built on years of political experience, extensive grassroots connections, and a reputation for maintaining close ties with the people.
Supporters of the former Deputy Governor argue that his leadership style and commitment to public welfare have earned him considerable goodwill across communities in Owerri Zone. They maintain that his track record in government positions him as a credible contender in the forthcoming senatorial contest.
Analysts also observe that the race for the Imo East Senatorial seat is likely to be influenced by factors such as individual capacity, political experience, acceptability, and grassroots support. In this regard, many stakeholders believe that Prince Madumere remains a formidable force within the political landscape of the zone.

As part of activities marking the 2026 Democracy Day celebration, the former Deputy Governor congratulated the people of Owerri Zone, Imo State, and Nigerians worldwide on the occasion.
In a goodwill message released through his media team, Prince Madumere described June 12 as a historic symbol of democracy, justice, freedom, and the supremacy of the people’s will.
He noted that the day commemorates the sacrifices of pro-democracy heroes, particularly the late Chief M.K.O. Abiola, whose struggle remains a shining example of courage, resilience, and patriotism.
According to him, Democracy Day serves as a reminder that democratic governance thrives on accountability, transparency, active citizen participation, and adherence to the rule of law.
Madumere urged leaders at all levels to place the welfare of the people above personal interests while encouraging citizens to remain committed to nation-building and democratic values.
Addressing the people of Owerri Zone, he emphasized the importance of unity, collective purpose, and sustained advocacy for the development of the region. He reiterated his commitment to promoting justice, equity, youth empowerment, women’s inclusion, and people-oriented leadership.
The former Deputy Governor further called on Nigerians to renew their faith in the country, expressing optimism that through unity, patriotism, and responsible leadership, Nigeria can achieve lasting peace, prosperity, and sustainable development.
