2027: Ideato South Youths Endorse Nnenna Anyama for House of Representatives, Demand Equity in Constituency Rotation

Ahead of the 2027 general elections, youths from Ideato South Local Government Area have declared their unwavering support for the House of Representatives ambition of Hon. Lady Nnenna Anyama, insisting that the principle of equity, fairness and justice should guide the choice of the next representative for the Ideato Federal Constituency.

The youths made their position known during a solidarity visit to Hon. Anyama at her country home in Amanator Community, where they described her as a capable, experienced and credible leader who possesses the qualities needed to provide effective representation for the constituency.

The event attracted prominent political leaders, stakeholders and youth representatives from across Ideato South, reflecting growing support for Anyama’s aspiration.

Among those present were the Apex Leader of Ideato Nation, Chief Humphrey Ikeaka (Ikezuoagu); former Executive Chairman of Ideato South LGA, Chief Emeka Osuorji (Obidigboo); former Interim Management Committee Chairman of Ideato South, Hon. Bede C. Ikeaka; Executive Vice Chairman of Ideato North, Hon. Lady Kate Osigwe; Divine Mandate Youth Leader of Ideato South, Engr. Sir Emeka Ohia, KSJI (Bush); Pastor Dr. Bren Phillips Osuorji, as well as serving councillors from various wards in the local government.

Speaking on behalf of the youths, Engr. Emeka Ohia said the visit was aimed at reaffirming their support for Hon. Anyama and advocating the continuation of the existing rotational arrangement for the Ideato Federal Constituency seat.

According to him, the youths believe that maintaining the zoning arrangement will promote unity, fairness and equal participation among the component local government areas.

He maintained that it is the turn of Ideato South to produce the next member representing the constituency at the House of Representatives and urged all youths in the area to unite behind Anyama’s candidacy.

“Our position is clear. Equity must prevail. We believe Hon. Nnenna Anyama has the competence, experience and vision to represent the people effectively,” he said.

Former Executive Chairman of Ideato South LGA, Chief Emeka Osuorji, commended the youths for their solidarity and described Anyama’s emergence as divinely ordained. He urged them to regard her ambition as a collective project that requires the support of all stakeholders.

He also praised the administration of Governor Hope Uzodimma for promoting inclusive leadership in the state.

Similarly, former IMC Chairman, Hon. Bede C. Ikeaka, described Anyama’s aspiration as an opportunity for greater representation and development. He called on the youths to remain united and committed to achieving their political objective.

Ikeaka also applauded Governor Uzodimma for ongoing infrastructure development in Ideato, particularly the rehabilitation of the Okwelle–Dikenafai–Isiekenesi–Ntueke Road, which he said would enhance economic activities in the area.

In his remarks, the Apex Leader of Ideato Nation, Chief Humphrey Ikeaka, reaffirmed his support for the project and stressed that the zoning arrangement should be respected.

He said Ideato South deserves the opportunity to produce the next federal lawmaker and urged the youths to intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections.

Chief Ikeaka also commended Governor Hope Uzodimma and the First Lady, Barr. Chioma Uzodimma, for their contributions to the development of Ideato Nation and the empowerment of women.

Responding, Hon. Lady Nnenna Anyama expressed gratitude to the youths and political leaders for their confidence in her aspiration.

She described the solidarity visit as a demonstration of unity and commitment to the progress of Ideato Nation, adding that young people remain the driving force behind her ambition.

Anyama thanked Governor Hope Uzodimma for his leadership and developmental initiatives across Imo State, while acknowledging the First Lady’s advocacy for greater women’s participation in governance.

She assured the people that, if elected, she would provide purposeful, people-oriented and inclusive representation, pledging to work diligently for the peace, development and welfare of the entire Ideato Federal Constituency.

The youth leaders concluded the visit by reaffirming their commitment to sustained grassroots mobilisation and peaceful political engagement as preparations intensify for the 2027 general elections.
