IMSUBEB, in Collaboration with UBEC and FMOE, Successfully Concludes National Learning Assessment in Imo State

The Imo State Universal Basic Education Board (IMSUBEB), in collaboration with the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) and the Federal Ministry of Education (FMOE), has successfully concluded the National Learning Assessment (NLA) exercise across selected public basic education schools in Imo State.

The assessment, which forms part of the Federal Government’s commitment to improving learning outcomes in basic education nationwide, was conducted to evaluate pupils’ competencies in key learning areas and generate reliable data to support evidence-based educational planning, policy formulation, and targeted interventions.

The successful implementation of the exercise in Imo State was championed by the Executive Chairman of IMSUBEB, Hon. Chief Chidiebere Egboh, whose leadership, strategic coordination, and commitment ensured the smooth conduct of the assessment across the participating schools.

Speaking on the successful completion of the exercise, Hon. Chief Egboh reaffirmed the commitment of the Imo State Government, under the leadership of His Excellency, the Governor of Imo State, to strengthening the quality of basic education through effective collaboration with national education agencies and the adoption of data-driven policies that improve teaching and learning outcomes.

He commended the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), the Federal Ministry of Education (FMOE), education managers, field officers, school administrators, teachers, pupils, and other stakeholders for their dedication, professionalism, and cooperation throughout the assessment process.

The Executive Chairman emphasized that the findings of the National Learning Assessment will provide valuable insights into the current learning achievements of pupils in the State and serve as a foundation for designing targeted interventions aimed at improving literacy, numeracy, and overall educational performance in public basic schools.

IMSUBEB remains committed to implementing policies and programmes that promote quality, inclusive, and equitable basic education while strengthening partnerships with relevant stakeholders to ensure improved learning outcomes for every child in Imo State.
