2027:APC Leaders in Oguta Endorse Nwamkpa for Imo Assembly Seat.

Leaders and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State have unanimously endorsed Hon. Sir Modestus Nwamkpa as their preferred candidate for the 2027 Imo State House of Assembly election.

The endorsement came during the presentation of his Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms to party leaders and constituents in Oguta LGA.

Addressing party members, Nwamkpa, a journalist and politician, said his decision to contest was in the interest of Awa Ward and Oguta people at large. He assured party faithful of quality representation, promising to attract democratic dividends and ensure that the voice of Oguta would be effectively represented at the State Assembly.

He further stated that he enjoys the support of his community and pledged not to disappoint the people if elected.

Speaking at the event, the Executive Chairman of Oguta Local Government Area, Hon. Ifeanyi Nnani, described the presentation as peaceful and in line with the principles of equity and fairness being promoted by the administration of President Bola Tinubu.

Nnani noted that APC leaders and stakeholders in Oguta LGA had collectively agreed to support Nwamkpa’s aspiration for the Oguta State Constituency seat.

Also speaking, Sir Samuel Durugo, a technocrat from Izombe, described Nwamkpa’s emergence as a positive development for Oguta people and wished him success in his political ambition.

Similarly, Hon. Uche Chukwudi, popularly known as “Iyi of Egbuoma,” through the political pressure group, Citizens Grassroots Renaissance and Human Capital Development Initiative (CIGRAHDI), endorsed Nwamkpa as its preferred candidate for the 2027 House of Assembly election.

According to Chukwudi, Nwamkpa has remained politically active and committed to the growth of the APC in Oguta LGA. He added that the group stands for good governance, credible elections and support for capable candidates.

Former Majority Leader of the Imo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Jones Uzoka, described Nwamkpa as his political son and urged all aspirants to conduct themselves peacefully during the party primaries.

Uzoka also called on party members to align with the directives of Governor Hope Uzodimma and support whoever emerges victorious at the primaries, noting that the party’s candidate would become a collective project of the APC ahead of the general election.

Hon. Ndukwe Ottih and Dr. Mrs. Nkeiru Ihesie in a separate Speeches expressed support for Nwamkpa’s aspiration, insisting that Awa Ward deserves the opportunity to produce the next representative for Oguta State Constituency in the spirit of equity and fairness.

In his remarks, a leader from Oru Ward, Dr. A.C. Ngwuruako, advised the aspirant to work hard towards securing victory at the primary election while avoiding divisive and inflammatory statements.

Among dignitaries present at the event were Rt. Hon. Eugene Dibiagwu, Member representing Ohaji/Egbema/Oguta Federal Constituency; Chief Kyrian Uchegbu of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC); former Commissioner for Special Duties Barr. Walter Dibiagwu, Imo ENTRACO General Manager, Hon. Jeff Nwoha; Eze-elect Bernard Ufere of Ndionyemaobi; Hon. Arinze Ezinne; and Comrade Francis Maduba of Oluimo Media and many others.

The stakeholders described Nwamkpa’s aspiration as a welcome development for Awa Ward and Oguta Local Government Area.
