A former Chairman of the Imo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Christian Ogoma of Umuodo in Owerri Municipal Council Area of Imo State, has described his marriage and family bond with his wife, Lolo Nnedimma Ogoma, as divinely ordained by God.
Chief Ogoma made the remarks during a colourful birthday celebration held recently at his residence in Owerri, attended by family members, friends, political associates, and well-wishers.
Speaking during the event, Chief Ogoma said the discovery that both he and his wife share the same birthday date further strengthened their belief that their union was predestined by God.
According to him, their relationship has remained firmly rooted in faith, perseverance, and mutual understanding despite life’s challenges.
“Our relationship has been anchored on God from the beginning. We have passed through different phases of life, including trials and storms, but with courage, patience, and faith, our marriage has remained successful. It is truly a testament to the divine will of God,” he stated.
Chief Ogoma further noted that his wife had always celebrated and supported him throughout the years, adding that he decided to surprise her during the 2026 birthday celebration as a mark of appreciation for her unwavering love, loyalty, and support to the family.
On political matters, the former APC chairman said he preferred not to delve deeply into partisan politics during the celebration but used the opportunity to reiterate his support for the Imo State Charter of Equity and the zoning arrangement favouring Owerri Zone for the governorship position.
He maintained that, in the interest of fairness, unity, and inclusiveness, Owerri Zone should be allowed to produce the next governor of the state.
Chief Ogoma, however, stressed that the Charter of Equity should not be limited to the governorship position alone but should extend to all elective offices across the state and the country.
According to him, effective implementation of equity and zoning principles should encompass positions such as councillors, local government chairmen, members of the State House of Assembly, House of Representatives, Senate, governorship, and even the presidency.
“The only way the Charter of Equity can truly work effectively is when it covers all elective positions. Without that, it becomes selective and difficult to achieve its intended purpose,” he said.
He also urged members of his party to remain committed to the founding ideals and principles that made the APC a formidable political coalition in Nigeria.
In her remarks, Lolo Nnedimma Chris Ogoma expressed deep joy and appreciation over the surprise birthday celebration organised by her husband.
She described the discovery that both of them share the same birthday as a remarkable sign of divine compatibility and destiny.
According to her, their marriage has become a source of inspiration to many families, especially younger couples within and outside Owerri Municipal, who often seek marital guidance and counselling from them.
“Our relationship has continued to promote love, unity, and understanding, and we thank God for sustaining us over the years,” she said.
Lolo Ogoma also advised wives of politicians and aspiring politicians to understand the demands and responsibilities associated with public service and political life.
She described her husband as a dependable partner, caring father, and trustworthy friend who has never neglected his responsibilities to the family because of politics.
“My husband is a trusted friend, husband, and father in whom I am well pleased. He has never compromised his duties as a father because of politics,” she added.
