The Special Adviser on Empowerment to the Imo State Government, Hon. Godson Dibe, has extended warm goodwill messages to Christian fathers in Imo State and Nigeria in celebration of this year’s Father’s Day.
Speaking with newsmen in Owerri, Hon. Dibe—who serves as the Special Adviser on Empowerment to His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma, the Executive Governor of Imo State—described fathers as pillars not only in families but also in the society at large. He emphasized the importance of entrusting leadership and decision-making to God for guidance and sustainability, especially concerning the well-being of the nation.
Renowned for his empathy towards the less privileged, Hon. Dibe acknowledged that Nigeria faces complex, global challenges. He highlighted that insecurity requires collaborative efforts between community leaders and government, which must be guided by divine direction.
The young politician and leader from Umuna, Orlu, stressed that Nigerian fathers should take an active role in educating the youth about vigilance, patience, and supporting leadership—particularly those governments demonstrating resilience and commitment to overcoming challenges.
Hon. Dibe commended Governor Hope Uzodinma’s efforts to rehabilitate decayed infrastructure, including ongoing reconstruction projects across the state. He also expressed gratitude to fathers in Orlu and across Nigeria who continue to offer wise counsel to leaders.
Furthermore, the Special Adviser urged fathers to counsel their children and youths on the importance of honesty, dedication, and submission to the laws of the state—key virtues for the growth of institutions and societal progress.
As Nigeria approaches the 2027 general elections, Hon. Dibe advised fathers to educate the youth and women on the significance of obtaining their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), as a vital tool for fostering credible leadership.
He prayed for divine guidance to ensure that Imo State is led by good leaders who will maintain peace, stability, and prosperity for all.
