IMO POLICE PRO CONGRATULATES NEW FORCE PRO, DCP PLACID

The Police Public Relations Officer of the Imo State Command, DSP Henry Okoye, has congratulated Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Anthony Placid on his appointment as the Force Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Police Force.

In a statement, Okoye described the appointment by the Inspector-General of Police as a well-deserved recognition of Placid’s professionalism, experience, and dedication to duty.

According to him, the new appointment is “a round peg in a round hole,” noting that Placid’s impressive track record and professional competence have adequately prepared him for the responsibility of managing the public information unit of the Force.

Okoye expressed confidence that the new Force PRO would further strengthen the communication architecture of the Nigeria Police Force and take the public relations unit to greater heights.

He also commended the leadership of the Force, particularly the Inspector-General of Police, for identifying and appointing the right person for the position in the interest of the Nigeria Police Force.

The Imo Police spokesman urged the new Force PRO to continue to foster unity and cooperation among public relations officers across the various state commands while discharging his duties.

It would be recalled that the Inspector-General of Police approved the appointment of DCP Anthony Placid as the new Force Public Relations Officer.

Placid takes over from DCP Benjamin Hundeyin, who served as the outgoing Force spokesperson at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.

According to a statement issued by Hundeyin, Placid is a seasoned police officer with extensive experience in administration, operations, intelligence, training, and international peacekeeping.

Born on December 2, 1970, in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Placid hails from Mbiokporo Nsit in Nsit Ibom Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography and Regional Planning from the University of Uyo and a Master of Arts degree in Law and Diplomacy from the University of Jos. He also studied Law at the National Open University of Nigeria for a Bachelor of Laws degree.

Okoye noted that Placid’s rich professional profile would serve as inspiration to younger officers in the Force, urging them to emulate his dedication and commitment to service.

He prayed for God’s guidance and protection for the new Force PRO as he undertakes his new responsibilities in service to the nation.
