…SEEKS GLOBAL RECOGNITION

A women-based social organisation, ‘Best Intentional Mothers”, has pledged its commitment to supporting the rebuilding agenda of the Imo State Government, with a focus on advocacy and community development across political divides.
The group made this known during its general meeting held in Owerri, the Imo State capital, where members resolved to fashion out intentional advocacy roles aimed at adding value to governance and community leadership in the state.
Speaking with journalists after the meeting, the National Vice President of the association, Hon. Chief Mrs. Chinwe Nwaobasi, described Best Intentional Mothers as a non-political organisation comprising married women in Imo State who are passionate about uplifting the downtrodden in both rural and urban communities.
According to her, many women in rural areas find it difficult to express their challenges, particularly amid prevailing global economic hardships.
“As mothers, we have chosen to be their voice and serve as a bridge between leaders and the people. That is our major thrust,” she said.
She added that the organisation believes that identifying problems is a significant step toward solving them, noting that members sometimes reach out to political and community leaders for intervention, while also contributing palliatives to alleviate the plight of vulnerable groups.
Chief Mrs. Nwaobasi urged married women to remain committed to their homes, support their husbands, and prioritise the well-being of their children.
She also paid tribute to the Founder and National President of the organisation, who is currently in the United States of America, commending her vision and leadership.
Commenting on the recent 50th anniversary celebration of Imo State, Mrs. Nwaobasi expressed satisfaction with the administration of Hope Uzodinma, stating that it has inspired renewed confidence and hope, particularly among rural communities and women.
She called on the political class in the state to support Governor Uzodinma’s programmes and policies aimed at strengthening the economy, adding that Imo State has continued to position itself as an emerging industrial hub and tourist destination in Southern Nigeria.
