Oguzie’s Public Announcement on Taskforce Ban, Lack Merit, Frivolous & Misinformation
Chigozie Marquis
The dangers of misinformation are glaring in the recent publication credited to Mr. I. A. Oguzie, claiming that Governor Senator Hope Uzodimma has approved the ban on Taskforce teams in Imo State.
This misleading, unfounded and misinformation has the potential to destroy the reputation of the Governor, the State, and its institutions.
It’s essential to note that, the Imo State government has a clear architecture, with a State Executive Council and media handlers, including the Chief Press Secretary and Information Commissioner.
The Secretary Imo State Government, Chief Cosmos Iwu, also has his own media department, which acts directly in line with the Executive order from the Governor.
The government of Imo State has designated agencies for revenue collections, including ENTRACO, OCDA, and the Imo State Traffic Management Agency. The latter, despite not being operational, has been instrumental in maintaining road safety and traffic decongestion, particularly on Douglas Road and the entire roads in Owerri Municipal Council Area of Imo State capital city.
To avoid misinformation, blackmail, and overreactions, it’s crucial for the government to be cautious of information disseminated to the public.
This can be achieved by ensuring that policy statements and information are channeled through approved media handlers, such as the Chief Press Secretary or the Commissioner for Information to avoid deceptions.
Ultimately, the spread of misinformation can have severe consequences, including the destruction of reputations and the breakdown of law and order.
It’s essential for the government and its institutions to prioritize accuracy and transparency in their communication as Mr. I .A. Oguzie lacks the merit and moral justifications to announce to the public on the purported ban on all the established Revenue Taskforce teams in the State as the publication has left injurious mark in the fiscal driver of revenues for the State with rigorous agitation from the public who are mislead by the previous publication from the impostor on the 3 April 2025.
With the above statements, “Public Service Announcement, Imo State Government Bans on All Forms of Task force in the State”.
“His Excellency the Governor of Imo State Dist. Sen.(Dr) Hope Uzodimma, CON, GSSRS, has approved the ban on all forms of Taskforce currently operating under any guise or MDA in the State”.
“The ban on the Taskforce in the State has become necessary following their incessant activities which has constituted nuisance to the general public and paints the image of the government in bad light”.
“Following the approval of His Excellency, on this issue, Government therefore Warns that anyone or group of person’s operating as Taskforce under any guise will be apprehended by Security Operatives, who has been directed to get rid of all forms of Taskforce in the State and such culprits would be made to face the full weight of the law”. Mr.I A. Oguzie said.
This has created a confusion, because the State can’t be a lawless state and the State needs the compliance, monitoring and enforcement of the laws for the smooth running of the government.
This, I.A.Oguzie claiming of standing in for the Secretary of Imo State Government as he didn’t show any evidence of his claims from the State Secretary who wasn’t seen, mentioned or heard in the purported executive order making it all fake News, null and void and of no effect because he is not qualified to handle the government official statements.
