Imo Professional Women Commends First Lady Barr Chioma Uzodimma for Empowering Women.

In her commitments to transform Women and Girls in Imo State, Barr. Chioma Uzodimma through her pet project “Good Hope Women’s Initiative” has successfully hosted a one-day mentorship program, “Reaching Forward,” aimed at capacity building to empower women and girls in Imo State

The event, held on March 29, 2025, brought together prominent women Technocrats, Captain of industry and Professional, including Former Imo State First Lady, Barr. Chioma Ohakim, Mrs Kelechi Onwuchekwa, Princess Gloria Akobundu, Dr. Chioma Obinna-Egu, Mrs. Uche Kennedy-Ibeh, others are, Hon. Justice Chinemerem Onuegbu, Clerk Imo State House of Assembly, Barr. Chinelo Emeghara, Princess Barr. Lulu Njoko and Engr. Mrs Obiageli Anyaehie and others were assembled in a panel to share their past experiences as a guidance to mentor the participants mostly the children and mothers in the occasion.

The initiative, founded by the First Lady of Imo State, Barr. (Dr.) Chioma Uzodinma, seeks to equip women and girls with the necessary skills, confidence, and guidance to thrive in their respective fields. The program’s impact was evident, with young women, particularly secondary school students, benefiting immensely from the mentorship and guidance programs a testament for the care and love by the Imo State first Lady to ensure sustainability of the girls child success in the future.

Commending the Initiator and other noteable women in the Panel Former first Lady Imo State Barr. Lady Chioma Ohakim described the event as timely and encouraged the Wife of Imo State governor Senator Hope Uzodimma to continue in her good work.

The event’s success has assured the public of Barr. Mrs Chioma Uzodinma’s commitment to sustaining the mentorship initiative for the greater good of Imo State.

Similar initiatives, such as the Women’s Leadership Program Online offered by Yale School of Management, also focus on empowering women leaders.

The Good Hope Women’s Initiative Reaching Forward Mentorship Program for Women and Girls aimed at equipping women and girls with Guidance, Skills to excel as the Governor’s wife Team gathered momentum to transform the Women and Girl child in the State with the successful top notch program on the Female Genitals Mutilation project across the 27 Council Areas of Imo State.

In her brief media interactions, Barr. Mrs Uzodimma, said that, she is poised to transform the Women and Girls in Imo State inline with the husband’s policy mantras.

She promised to continue to do her best for the overall interest of women and children in the State.

In their separate remarks, Mrs Kelechi Onwuchekwa, a Technocrats, Banker, a passionate Leader and mentor who dedicated to empowering young girls to achieve their full potentials encouraged the participants on the need to be focused and shun unnecessary distractions by working hard to achieve success by Mentoring yourselves to remain focused and have a role model and successful person perhaps a successful woman in a mind to emulate as role models while pursuing their dreams.

She expressed appreciations to her Excellency, Imo State First Lady, Barr. Mrs. Chioma Uzodimma for the well thought out program for the proficient building of women and girls. “Building a woman means building a society”.

Many Secondary Schools in Imo State including their Teachers participated in the event meant to inculcate the habits family value, confidence, morality and Carrier development through the First Lady Barr Chioma Uzodimma’s GOOD HOPE WOMEN’S INITIATIVE Project to Imo State Women and Girls.
