Obogwu village in Okuku Autonomous Community,Owerri West Council Area of Imo State has been thrown into crisis as the traditional ruler of the community, HRH Eze Paul Unawunwa allegedly ordered stoppage of the burial of his Kinsman, late Paa Anthony Mbonu over land dispute.

This Newspaper learnt that Eze Paul Unawunwa an American returnee has been conniving with the nephews of the deceased, one Mr. Emeka Mbonu and his brothers including the Chairman of Obogwu village, Mr. Samson Onyewuotu to disrupt the burial arrangement of late Paa Anthony Mbonu.

Journalists who visit the Community last Thursday observed the destruction of the ongoing construction of sucker pitch toilets, Tiles and other building materials which according to the son of the late Paa Anthony Mbonu worth over two million naira.

The son of late Paa Anthony Mbonu, Mr. Nnanyereugo Mbonu narrated that their cousins Emeka and his siblings started troubling them immediately they kicked- off renovation of their mother’s house in preparation of their father’s burial.

In his word “Emeka and his brothers started battling us as we kicked off preparation of our late father’s burial.
They are claiming ownership of the building, our father’s inheritance as the first son of Mbonu.
Although,we are living in the same building which was built by collective efforts of my father,Anthony and our grandfather,Mbonu. We were living in a mould house together before the modern house was built.
Late Uncle Monday Mbonu, the father of Emeka and his siblings was a younger of our father. He was just accommodated in the house as a family member. I wonder why Emeka and his siblings should be laying claim of the building and land ownership of the inheritance of our father,Anthony who is the first son of Mbonu. This my cousins have been bribing the village Chairman,Mr. Samson Onyewuotu to deprive us of our inheritance. They allegedly bribed our traditional ruler,Eze Unawunwa who is currently ruling us from oversea ,and they have been trying to change the culture and tradition of our people”.

Nnanyereugo Mbonu further called on Imo State Governor,Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers Chairman,HRM Eze Dr. Emmanuel Okeke, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftinacy Affairs and Security Agencies to come to their aide so as to enable them bury their late father peacefully.

Meanwhile, the 70-year-old widow of late Paa Anthony Mbonu, Mrs Olumma Immaculata Mbonu was reportedly beating to stupour by the Vigilantes loyal to Eze Paul Unawunwa on Friday last week.
Mrs Ulomma Immaculata Mbonu named her attackers at her husband compound as the Chairman of Obogwu Village,Mr.Samson Onyewuotu and Vigilantes,Sunday Ohanaka, Kelechi Ofoma, Obilor Anorue, Friday Akujuobi, Kelvin Agbazuo, Benedict Ohamara and Eugene Ohamara.

The traditional ruler told Journalists who visited his palace via cellphone that he was attending meeting somewhere, but later stated tthat the issue does not concern him.

While Obogwu Village Chairman,Mr. Samson Onyewuotu stated that the reason for his actions was that he had earlier told Anthony’s family to vacate the building as it belongs to their late Uncle Monday, the younger brother of their late father, Paa Anthony Mbonu.
