The Commissioner for Transport Imo State, Dr Chika Benson Abazu, has recently revealed some of his tactical innovations to develop Imo State Transport Sector.

The Commissioner who was concerned more with the none availability of good policy to drive the Sector said that alot has been implemented since his assumptions of office and expressed confidence in the government of Senator Hope Uzodimma for more human oriented developmental stride in the Transport sector.

He maintained that Soon the State government through the ministry of Transport will unveil the
Transport master plans in Imo State including, Imo Metro Rail Ways lines.

The reticulation of the railway in the Three zone including Oguta Local Government Area for it’s great potentials using the Water front, others are, Imo State central Park Schemes, this will help to map out the central Parking system for bus terminals according to him it’s going to create alots of job opportunity for the youth and will be on 24 hours operations for the transport sector.

To achieve the fit, Commissioner Abazu insisted that the government through his ministry will source for funds from the Nigeria Exchange Commission and other private establishments to achieve the projects.
He Commended the governor Senator Hope Uzodimma for doing great to prioritize Imo State Gas Sector not only to the sustainability of Imo State but to build Natural Gas reserves center (CNG).

According to him, Getting gas ready available for the conversions of Domestic gas for our people and it’s capability in creations of job opportunity for the youth.

Speaking the former Chairman of Imo State Biometric Data Capture and Painting Committee, Elder Anaelechi Ukawunne, who along side the Permanent Secretary Chief Abimbola Ogunseye, witnessed the interactive sessions with Newsmen, expressed confidence in the commissioner, Dr. Chika Benson Abazu intellectual capacity and encouraged him to resets the State Transportation policy’s to facilitate the easy development of the Transport sector in accordance with the original State master plans.

He encouraged a synergy for the people and the Commissioner and caution those using the name of the Ministry of Transport to perpetrate crimes in terms of Taskforce and thuggery to desist rather be in support of the Commissioner.

Meanwhile, the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has made a surprising move towards reconciliation with Imo State’s government, following their earlier demands for the removal of Commissioner for Transport, Dr. Chika Benson Abazu. NANS had accused Abazu of misusing police power, undermining student leadership, and involvement in a controversial transport scheme

They criticized Abazu’s actions, stating they conflicted with Imo State’s “Shared Prosperity” agenda and harmed peace and development in the region.

However, in an unexpected turn of events, NANS leadership in Imo State, Lead by Mr. Chukwuemeka Chikere Chairman NANS Stakeholders has now taken steps toward reconciliation as the Commissioner obliged to accept genuine love and opted to release the two Students arrested on the accusations of sabotage against the State including Comrade Anderson Uwakwe NANS National EX Officio and NANS Zone F Secretary, Miss. Jacinta Alfred Chinedu.

Speaking Chukwuemeka Chikere expressed confidence in the Commissioner Abazu for his fatherly understanding and pardon which helped the Association to secure the release of the detained members and promised to remained loyal to the government authority.

On the Students Intervention Schemes, A Transport sector unit meant for the welfares of the students to converge the students mostly off campus ones tro and fro the school is just for the students academic enhancement purposes.

The truth remained that the issue of the buses Biometric Data Capture and Painting has been severally negotiated and MOU signed and the government interest was protected by the previous Commissioner not the recent and the plan is to intimate the new Commissioner Dr Chika Benson Abazu of such development and not what will cause misunderstanding between the Students and the government.

“We are partners in progress and will remain in the partnership with the government”. Chikere said.
