Trouble has befallen the Honourable Commissioner for Rural Development and Empowerment Imo state, Hon Ifeanyi Oruh, as he was allegedly exposed on how he recently collected the sum of N1million each from the 27 IMO LGA SOLADS,with the promise and firm assurances to secured the APC ticket for them in the forthcoming Sept 21 2024 Imo LGA Elections.
This revelations was made known by a pro democracy group, “IMO ACCOUNTABILITY GROUP” in a press statement, in Owerri Imo State recently.
According to the release made available to newsmen, which was signed by its Chairman, Dr Chigozie Emeziem, and Secretary Mrs Jacinta Obinasim ,the group revealed that accordingly their findings indicted, Hon Oruh who had instructed the said 27 LGA SOLADS that the Governor of Imo State, Dist. Sen Hope Uzodimma, told him to tell them to go and buy the APC Nomination and Expression of Interest form and hide same under their beds for the said forthcoming Sept 21, Imo LGA election.
However, following his desperate instructions, all the said 27 LGA SOLADS went and bought their Nomination and Expression of Interest Forms and hide same as directed by Hon Oruh.It was also gathered that the said 27 LGA SOLADS had earlier given Hon Oruh the sum of N500,000(Five hundred thousand Naira) each as “thank you” for making them SOLADS in their respective LGAs through his earlier proposal to the Governor while the N1million he allegedly collected from the said SOLADS recently is for the said party ticket which he will present to the Governor too to enable him consider them.
The statement further revealed that, Hon Oruh, agreed with the SOLADs that if they finally succeed, each of them will be remiting 0ne million Naira to him monthly if they became Executive chairman.
Meanwhile APC screening for the aspirants is ongoing with non of the SOLADs being present
However, considering the implications, the group is calling on the peoples’ Governor Dist. Senator Hope Uzodinma to call Hon Oruh to order to desist from such undemocratic practices,stating that the forthcoming Sept 21 election is not the same with the appointment of SOLADS and wondered why the said 27 LGA SOLADS and their master are also eyeing the Sept 21 Council Seat election when the Governor has conpensated them with the SOLAD appointment which ordinarily most of Them could not have enjoyed for life if not from a kind person like Gov. Uzodinma and therefore described their action as an act of greed and therefore advice them not to be too ambitious as aspiration would cause serious Crisis in the 27 LGAs at the end.
Meanwhile, people have been reacting over Hon Oruh’s plan since it has been exposed particularly APC Stakeholders who feels that, Hon Oruh, is going beyond his limit and therefore called on the Governor not to accept such proposal which they described as been selfish and evil.
“This is the time His Excellency will be careful and avoid unnecessary praise singers and their recommendations, so that,no single individual should be allowed to recommend all the Executive Chairmen for the 27 LGAs in the state.is improper no matter what”
