A renowned educationist and leader in Obowo LGA, Sir Dr Eli Dibia has picked the Chairmanship form of the All Progressives Congress APC to contest the upcoming September 21st local government elections in Obowo LGA.
The pragmatic leader who expressed his joy over the Supreme Court judgement granting autonomy to the local government while interacting with newsmen immediately after picking his nomination form recently at APC office in Owerri, said if he eventually emerges as the Executive Chairman, Obowo LGA, he would ensure that the huge allocation will be put to optimal use for the good of his people.
Dr Dibia said he had garnered huge working experiences both at the state and federal levels and would use these experiences optimally if elected as Executive chairman to ameliorate the sufferings of the people of Obowo Local government area. ” When I saw the sufferings of the masses, the poverty ravaging my people of Obowo LGA, I felt I should go and show them a bit of what I know, and give them good governance, he noted.”
He said: ” I will give the kind of leadership that will entrench the empowerment of the youths, I will move into programmes that will train the youths and equip them and possibly bring offshore cum foreign opportunities that will make them grow bigger and help others.”
The passionate Dibia promises to build roads, establish social security programmes for those that cannot afford hospital bills, the poor and the indigents, etc; adding that there will be mass transit buses in Obowo, stressing that a good legislative chambers will be built for Obowo lawmakers to ensure smooth lawmaking business.
He urged Obowo electorates and Imolites to support him during the elections, while praying the Almighty God to grant him the grace to emerge as Obowo Local government chairman come September 21st 2024.
A leader in his campaign organization and the secretary of the Media Committee, Engr Sabastine Adiele said Dr Eli Dibia would deliver if voted in as Obowo Local government chairman because he has that capacity and the requisite qualifications to serve Obowo people and the best qualified for the job. He urges Obowo people both men and women to join in the campaign to elect Eli Dibia as the Executive Chairman Obowo Local government area come September.
