The Commissioner For Sports And Youths Development, Imo State, Hon. Obinna Onyeocha Thursday, Parleyed With Delegation Of Select Imo Youth Groups Across The State In His Office.
The Youth Groups Comprising Of The Imo State Youth Parliament (IYP) Led By The Speaker, Hon. Eze Ekewuba And Others; The Imo Youth Congress, IYC, Led By Comrade Sixtus Okechukwu; Imo Boys Brigade Led By Ejimkonye Chigoziem; Royal Ambassadors Led By Ambassador Nwaezechukwu Timothy; Men Of Order And Discipline Led By Frank Veralyn Chizuterem; Progressive Nigerian Youth Ambassadors Led By Ambassador Mbagwu Chinedu Clinton; Conference Of Uniform Youth Organizations (CUYO); Among Others.
Addressing The Youths, Onyeocha Said His Excellency, Gov. Hope Uzodinma Desires To Partner And Work With Imo Youths, And Wants Them To Cooperate With The Government To Make The State Work And Succeed.
He Informed That The essence Of The Meeting Is To Hear From Them, And Them Hearing From Him Towards Finding Better Ways Of Collaborations With Each Other, _Vis-a-vis_ The Government Of Imo State.
He Therefore Requested Them To Be Free With His Office And The Ministry, And Feel Free To Bring Up Positive Ideas And Contributions Towards Bettering Imo Youths For A Safer Imo State.
Hon. Onyeocha Who Identified Himself As “Fellow Youth” Also Assured The Youths Of Giving Attention To Their Demands And Suggestions, While Promising To Bring Most Of Them Up With His Excellency, The Governor Of Imo State Described By The Youths As Their “Father”.
Speaking One After The Other, Some Heads Of The Over 14 Youth Groups Present At The Meeting Aired Their Views And Proffered Advises, Opinions And Suggestions On How Imo Youths Would Be Treated For A Positive Imo State; Opinions And Ideas The Honourable Commissioner Listened To With Rapt Attention, And Took Note.
The Commissioner Also Assured That The Crises In The National Youth Council, Imo State Chapter Is Already Being Looked Into With A View To Permanently Bring Peace In The Leadership.
