Eke Ukwu Owerri Ultramodern Market Open Stalls Plaza is one of the good legacies of the State Governor Senator Hope Uzodimma’s infrastructure facility to aminorate the suffering of the commoners especially the downtrodden or Women in Owerri Municipal Council to do their trading in a decent environment.
The plaza which is among the ongoing projects in Imo state is nearly on completion with the workers currently at final finishing stage and will certainly wipe away umbrella street trading in Owerri Municipality Council soon.
A legacy project led by a consortium firm, Amanda Global Integrated Project/AEG Constructions Limited, “despite facing challenges, the firm is committed to delivering high-quality work as the Consortium have earlier assured of total commitment and completion of the entire project on or before December 2024 for the final commissioning and utilization of the facility by the general public.
The open stalls are, a story building of over three hundred shades in cubicles sizes, with tiles floor to be run with Solar Electricity Power Supply for efficiency and, 24 hours trading with toilet facilities, restaurants, cold rooms, fire systems and pipe born water supply including a Reservoir and a standard Cool Rooms for Storages System.
The issue of trading along the adjoining streets of the Eke Ukwu Owerri Ultramodern Market will soon be over as the open shades plaza will accommodate all the Umbrellas Petty Traders within School road, Iheanacho, Ekeonunwa, Nwaedo and Rotobi Streets, respectively.
Soon using umbrella to sell wares including food stuff’s and perishables will be a thing of the past in the municipal market as the plaza has the capacity to accommodate all the traders and customers and allowed easy passage of people or free the area from congestions and illegal streets trading.
The state government in conjunction with the Construction company is now open to allocate the stalls to interesting and reliable traders within the mentioned area to enable government easy evacuation and cleaning of the Eke Ukwu Owerri Ultramodern Market premises and surroundings for free and comfortable trading activities and to realize the dream of the governor that placed the State Capital as the hub of economic activity’s in South East part of Nigeria.
