The former Governor Senator Rochas Okorocha in his quest for speedy development of Owerri Imo State Capital built and Commissioned first to fourth inland Roads to hook up new Owerri and the municipality, although the project was smeared by low cost materials resulted to it’s dilapidation within the scope of his administration and was put back into use by the government of Senator Hope Uzodimma’s Three(R)policy under the Reconstruction and rehabilitation agenda a plus to Barr Ralph Nwosu Imo Commissioner for work.
In a public announcement from the Media Assistant to the Commissioner for Work Imo State, Comrade Ejike Enesha on Wednesday 29 May 2024, stating that the State ministry of Work has certified the Rehabilitated Second Inland Road for public use after the ministry earlier on Rehabilitation exercise embarked on total reconstruction of the Third inland road while the fourth inland Road is still a shadow of its self and inpassable.
The announcement from Ejike, reads,
“This is to formally notify the general public that the reconstruction of the 2nd Inland road is duly completed and certified by Ministry of Works and Infrastructural Development,
“The road is therefore open for public use as the general public is by this announcement urged to expand traffic from Umezurike Hospital road to 2nd and 3rd Inland roads as alternative routes for easy flow of traffic since the Assumpta Control Post is under construction”.
“To this end, the Commissioner for Works and Infrastructural Development, Ralph Nwosu therefore uses the opportunity to enjoin road users to drive with caution as the ply through the alternative routes and reiterated government desire to improve the infrastructural development of the state in line with the core mandates of the Shared Prosperity Administration of His Excellency, Governor Hope Uzodimma, CON” Enesha.
