The Imo State Police Command, in partnership with a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), RULAAC, and stakeholders, including journalists, held a one-day seminar to address the growing insecurity and criminality in the state.
The seminar aimed to build partnerships and explore measures to prevent crime and ensure synergy between the people and law enforcement agencies.
Attendees included royal fathers, community leaders, youth organizations, and the Imo State Police Command, led by the representative of the CP Aboki Danjuma, Including the Police Public Relations Officer PPRO ASP Henry Okoye.
The Executive Director of RULAAC, Comrade Okechukwu Nwanguma, emphasized the need for collaboration and community policing to tackle insecurity.
Key points from the seminar include, Building partnerships with actors in the security architecture, Community policing and intelligence gathering Fostering youth engagement in constructive activities, Deployment of advanced surveillance technology, Regular town hall meetings to discuss security concerns, Collaboration with communities and citizenry
Notable attendees, such as Chief Barrister Louis M.Alozie, SAN, and HRM Eze Dr. Goodluck Obi, commended the organizers and the Imo Police Commissioner, CP Aboki Danjuma, for his proactive approach to tackling insecurity.
The seminar aimed to find solutions to stop the growing insecurity and criminality in Imo State and promote peace and tranquility witnessed a great participation of Imo people including Students body at the Rock view Hotel Owerri Imo State.
In a separate interview with Journalists, The Traditional Ruler of Uburu Ihejiofor Oru West Local Government Area of Imo State, HRH Eze Dr. Goodluck Obi thanked the organizers of the programme for the timely response and reaffirmed that the issue of security should not be left for the Agencies alone but should be for everyone to ensure absolute peace.
As a Royal Father, Eze Obi point out that Ndi Eze’s are the worst hit in the Insecurity matters because they are at the Grassroots level and he called on additional government policies to assist the Traditional Rulers to serve the community better as well as calling on the individuals for a collaborative relationship with the Security operatives to expose criminals to enthroned lasting peace and tranquility in the State.
