Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, has dissolved the state leadership of the Imo State Amalgamated Market Traders Association (ISAMATA) due to allegations of fraudulent activities.
The governor accused the State President of ISAMATA, Hon. Emmanuel Ezeanochie, of using the government’s name to defraud innocent traders, illegally appropriating land and stalls, and other corrupt practices.
The Commissioner for Information, Strategy, and Public Orientations, Hon. Declan Emelumba, announced that the governor has ordered the arrest and interrogation of Mr. Ezeanochie and directed security agencies to investigate the allegations and prosecute him if indicted.
The dissolution of ISAMATA’s state executive committee is effective immediately, and the government has vowed to rid the state of corruption in all sectors.
This action demonstrates the government’s commitment to accountability, transparency, and good governance, and serves as a warning to others who may engage in fraudulent activities.
