The city of Port Harcourt, Rivers State was majestically shut down for good measures on Saturday, May 4, 2024 by the blissful wedding ceremony of an Imo State born, Interior Decoration Designer, Miss Ogechi Cynthia Okorocha and her heartthrob, Mr Jidenna Donald Akpamgbo.
Handing over their beautiful and ever smiling daughter to the Akpamgbo family in Enugu Ukwu Autonomous Community in Anambra State, was Ichie Peter Okorocha, the father and a Community leader in Njaba Local Government Area of Imo State who also doubles as a friend of St Francis Catholic Parish Church Rumuokwuta, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Ichie Peter Okorocha, the father of the bride and the head of Okorocha’s family performed both the traditional as well as the ecclesiastical rites of blessing their daughter before the commencement of the holy matrimony which Six Priest graciously consummated the marriage with other Catholic faithfuls participated in the colourful matrimonial ordinance.
Besides the hallowed presence of the priests, the choir added colour and glamour to the occasion with its beautiful liturgical musicals which were specially selected. The congregation comprising friends, colleagues, associates and family members of both the groom and the bride electrified the event with their smart dress code, joyful gyrations and decent appreciation of the couple. It was a moment of glory for the the latest and newest couple in Garden City even as both the bride and the groom glittered lovely and elegantly till dawn with special party dance and a special parting gift items from both family’s and friends.
Shortly after the church service the motorcade raced to the reception venue at Golden Tulip Hotel, Ken Saro Wiwa Way, Rumuola where the entire enclave was shut down and the hall was lit up in celebration mood with pomp pageantry even as fireworks and effigy flames reigned the air. It was absolutely sensational.
Virtually all the Big Boys and Senior Babes as well as Port Harcourt’s socialites, politicians, business class and even the common man witnessed the grand marriage reception.
It was a festival of sorts, coloured in razzmatazz, essentially denominated by fun-fare and that is what produced it as a celebration of beauty, and class.
Both families of Late Chief Okorocha Omeronyeokwe of Umuduruemegharibe, Umuduru-Ogba, Okwudor Autonomous Community in Njaba Local Government Area and Late Barr Akpamgbo of Enugu Ukwu Autonomous Community in Anambra State played host and entertained guests in a manner that all went home with gratitude and happiness.
