The member representing Ideato Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Ikenga Ugochinyere Ikeagwuonu, has celebrated his birthday with constituents, political associates and supporters in a grand style at his residence in Akokwa, Ideato North Local Government Area of Imo State, using the occasion to highlight his legislative achievements and unveil his future plans for the incoming general elections for his party, Action People’s Party (APP).

Addressing the gathering, Ugochinyere Imo, expressed appreciation to his supporters for the show of love and solidarity, describing the celebration as one of the most memorable moments of his life.

“This day is one of my happiest moments because I am being honoured by people who genuinely love and believe in me. It is also an opportunity to interact with my constituents and brief them on my stewardship in the House of Representatives,” he said.

The federal lawmaker, who is also the Action Peoples Party (APP) candidate for the Ideato Federal Constituency seat, described the APP as a growing political movement committed to providing purposeful leadership and reshaping the state’s political landscape.

Highlighting his scorecard, Ugochinyere said his representation has recorded significant milestones in education, agriculture and rural infrastructure.

According to him, several primary and secondary school buildings across the constituency have been renovated and furnished with desks, while agricultural empowerment programmes and rural electrification projects have also been executed to improve the living conditions of the people.

He reaffirmed his commitment to effective representation and urged the people of Ideato to sustain their support for his administration.

Speaking on the forthcoming elections, the lawmaker urged his supporters to remain steadfast and protect what he described as the collective mandate of the people.

Recalling previous elections, Ugochinyere alleged that he and his supporters had faced intimidation and attacks but maintained that such experiences would not deter them from pursuing their democratic rights.

He also accused political opponents of resorting to acts of violence and vandalism out of fear of his growing popularity, insisting that his supporters would continue to pursue their political aspirations through lawful and democratic means.

The lawmaker further alleged that there were plans by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to manipulate future elections but called on eligible voters to remain vigilant and ensure that every valid vote counts.

“I will continue to speak boldly and defend the interests of Ideato people. I urge our supporters to remain peaceful, law-abiding and committed to protecting their votes. Democracy thrives when the will of the people is respected,” he stated.

The celebration ended with a resounding endorsement from supporters drawn from the two local government areas that make up the federal constituency, as well as party leaders and political associates from across the three geopolitical zones of Imo State, who pledged their continued support for his re-election bid.
