Miraculous Healing: Kidney Failure Survivor Celebrates at Iho in Evang. Okoronkwo, Heavenly Glory Ministries”

By Anselem Anokwute in Owerri

The second anniversary celebration of Heavenly Glory Ministries Pentecostal Church in Iho, Ikeduru Local Government Area of Imo State, was nothing short of extraordinary, as the congregation witnessed a wave of powerful testimonies and divine interventions.

The thanksgiving and revival service, held on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at the Postal Agency House in Iho, drew scores of worshippers, pastors, traditional leaders, and well-wishers. The event was marked by spiritual fervor, praise, and testimonies of miraculous healings — including recovery from kidney failure, restoration of mobility to a crippled individual, and reports of conception after years of barrenness and many others.

The messenger of God in the ministry, Evangelist Cannis Okoronkwo, described the anniversary as a divine fulfillment of God’s promise to the church. Reflecting on the birth of the ministry, he shared how God called him out of his former church through a revelation to establish Heavenly Glory Ministries in Iho. He also recounted a near-tragic incident in which four children fell from the church service bus onto a major expressway but miraculously escaped without a scratch — a testament, he said, to God’s protection over the ministry.

One of the most talked-about testimonies was that of a worshipper previously diagnosed with kidney failure, who reportedly experienced complete healing after prayers at the church. “Doctors were amazed. God did what no man could do,” the evangelist noted.

The service was graced by several high-profile guests and clergymen, including Pastor Felix Mmekomam, Pastor Okechukwu Anah, Pastor Jude Ijeoma and Pastor Chris Ifeanyichukwu of the Watchman Catholic Charismatic Renewal Movement, Owerri. Also in attendance were traditional leaders such as HRH Eze Leo Mike Enwerenem, Ambassador Chijoke Ebirinwa — President-General of Umuebi Autonomous Community and President Ohanaeze Ndigbo Isiala Mbano chapter — and Traditional Prime Minister Umuneke Ugiri Autonomous Community, Chief Uchenna Nnadozie.

In his sermon, Pastor Chris Ifeanyichukwu drew from Isaiah 46:9–10, Judges 4:8–9, and 1 Kings 12:25, warning against idolatry and emphasizing that God alone declares and fulfills His plans. He urged the people of Ikeduru to embrace the gospel truth being preached at Heavenly Glory Ministries as a light in the entire area and shun all forms of ungodly worship.

Ambassador Ebirinwa, speaking during the service, praised Evangelist Okoronkwo, a messenger of God and a devoted man of God whose prayers and integrity have positively influenced the leadership of Umuebi community. “He is not only my vice president but also a spiritual pillar whose faith has inspired many, including myself,” he said, praying for the pastor’s continued strength, long life, and the growth of the church.

In his closing remarks, Messenger of God, Evangelist Okoronkwo thanked all attendees and encouraged the public to witness God’s power firsthand. “The God of Heavenly Glory Ministries is still in the business of making the impossible possible,” he declared. “Anyone battling terminal illness or issues beyond human understanding should come and encounter the God who never fails.”

The service concluded with spirited worship by the church choir and a special presentation by the children’s ministry, creating an atmosphere of joy, reverence and entertainment.
