NULGE: IMO YOUNG WORKER’S SUMMIT ENDS IN APPLAUSE FOR GOVERNOR UZODIMMA, OKEY OKERE, NWANEGWO & IGBOJEKWE

The maxim that Youths are the bedrock of the society are becoming factual as emerging facts precepting the establishment of the National Young Workers under the auspices of the National Union of Local Government Employees( NULGE ) with Imo State chapter successfully hosting a one day Young workers summit.
The summit made for the Young workers of the NULGE across the 27 Council was organized by the Imo State Coordinator Comrade Eric Igbojekwe (Nwachinemere) to reshape the younger workers in the Council’s to embrace the challenges and put the youthful energy to drive home good administration in the local government system.
In his address Coordinator, National Young workers Imo State chapter, Comrade Eric Igbojekwe (Nwachinemere) expressed deep gratitude for the success of the event which culminated with Imo State governor , Senator Hope Uzodimma’s reforms ideology Mantra at the Nworieubi Mbaitolu Local Government council Headquarters, Thursday, 8 May 2025.
Giving applause to the governor Senator Hope Uzodimma, Comrade Okechukwu Okere for his pragmatic leadership of NULGE Imo State Chapter and Mbaitolu Council Chairman, Hon Ifunanya Nwanegwo for his desire to uplifting the administration standard and workers Friendliness.
The theme of the workshop “Unlocking the Power of Inclusion” had the State leadership of NULGE , Hon. Comrade Okechukwu Okere, the Mbaitolu Local Government Council Chairman Hon Ifunanya Nwanegwo with members of the NULGE and Young workers across the 27 Council in attendance.
Comrade Igbojekwe reminded the members of the State Young workers that the meeting was a testament that no single worker should compromise rather bold statement by young workers across the 27 Council of Imo State that the young workers are ready to contribute to reshape the civil service and local govt system in the State
Equally to showcase the readiness, relevance, energy, intelligence, creativity and resilience within the Workforce to redefine the young workforce as the meeting serves to seek direct collaboration, mentorship and leadership of NULGE in inclusion in the National Leadership decision- making to contribute ideas and help in steering the Council leadership towards the developmental administrations.
Comrade Eric Igbojekwe commended the Executive Chairman Mbaitolu Local Government Area, Hon. Ifunanya Lactus Nwanegwo for his fatherly role in hosting the 2025 Imo State Young workers Summit and described him as “the Project Man”.
He promised to partner with the Leadership of the ALGON Imo State for synergy to actualize the vision of the governor Senator Hope Uzodimma at the Local Government Area Councils.
“Let me be clear, this is not the end but the beginning to build stronger, organized and strategic youth force within the NULGE and the State workforce, we must engage constructively, advocate boldly and serve diligently” he concluded.
Comrade Igbojekwe expressively appreciated the presence of the Imo State NULGE Chairman and his State executive members and the National Leadership of Young workers led by Comrade Safiyanu Dewu for his solidarity to the State chapter.
Speaking Imo State Chairman National Union of Local Government Employees NULGE, Comrade Okey Okere expressed confidence in the leadership of Imo State Young workers and thank them for supporting the State and the workers.
He enumerated his possible contributions to the growth of the State Council workforce since his emergence with the government to actualize Government- Workers Friendliness pointing out that he must encourage the government of Senator Hope Uzodimma on the good legacies and policies that positively effects the workers.
Responding, Hon. Ifunanya Nwanegwo expressed happiness on his experience while working with the Young workers and staff of his Council who were resilient and hardworking.
He pointed out some of his achievements to the entire Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State including donations of Solar powered Boreholes water system, Solar panel lights and 33 KVA Electric Transformer sets and first to carry out any development assignment from the governor.
Hon. Nwanegwo said that, Mbaitoli Local Government Area has remained one of the peaceful Council in the State with zero tolerance to insecurity and criminality.
He said that he was overwhelmed by the choice of the leadership of NULGE Imo State Young workers to host the Summit at his Council and promised to continue partnership with the Workers while urging Council workers in the State to remain resolute and service oriented for efficient administration of Local Government system which serves as grassroots government base .
He admonished people to avoid truancy and insubordination to their Superiors.
The highlight of the event was the special award of recognitions to a pragmatic leader from Amucha Ward Councilor in Njaba LGA incidentally cousin to the State Coordinator NULGE Young workers, Comd. Eric Igbojekwe double as the Leader of Njaba LGA Legislative Council and Leader of all the Legislative Leaders in Imo State and Chairman Nigeria Councilors Forum, Hon. Chigozie Ibenjo Abana- Njaba as “NULGE Young Worker Leader Imo State Legislative Arm” and Mbaitolu Local Government Area Council Chairman Hon Ifunanya Nwanegwo as the Project Man by the Imo State chapter of NULGE National Young workers as well as Mbaitolu Legislative Leader.
