By Our entertainment Correspondent
Nigerian-American artist ,Jesse Flames is steadily making his mark on the global music scene with the release of latest single, “HAPPY,” featuring fast-rising Afrobeats’ star Smur Lee.
A proud scion of Hon. Dr. Chief Godwin Uche Dibe, owner of Claudio and Alessio Transport Group Ltd., IYI Nnanyere Ugo Umuna, and brother to Hon. Godson Dibe, Special Adviser to the Governor of Imo State on Empowerment.
Jesse Flames is building an identity of his own through music, live performances and an increasingly impressive list of collaborations.
After his successful 2025 outing , Jesse enters a new chapter with “HAPPY.” A record that moves beyond entertainment and into something much more personal. The song, according to the artist, was inspired by God, with the intention of making people happy and bringing a message of positivity to a world that he believes desperately needs more healing.
The young bundle of talent, Nnaemeka Dibe ,describes himself as “a testimony of grace,” and says his music is one of the ways he chooses to spread that grace, positivity and encouragement to others. “HAPPY” reflects gratitude, growth, faith and the importance of finding joy despite the challenges life can bring.
This song was also deliberately made relatable as Jesse wants listeners to ably connect with his sound quickly, regardless of their background, while creating something that people can enjoy, sing along as well ,make part of their own experiences.
The collaboration with Smur Lee adds another major dimension to the record. With over one million monthly listeners on SPOTIFY, Smur Lee has established herself as one of the exciting new voices attracting serious attention within the Afrobeats’ space. For Jesse, the collaboration was particularly natural because he genuinely loves Smur Lee’s music. Their musical connection came together effortlessly, resulting in a record that combines Jesse’s uplifting message with Smur Lee’s distinctive sound and growing international appeal.
“HAPPY” also follows Jesse Flames’ previous releases, including “Flex,” featuring Jesse Jagz, and “Praise The Lord,” featuring Magnito, further demonstrating his ability to move between energetic, celebratory records and music rooted in faith, reflection and personal experience.
Jesse Flames Shares the Stage With Afrobeats Heavyweights
Jesse Flames’ growing profile is not limited to the recording studio.
The artist recently performed at Zlatan’s London show at OUTER NET, sharing the stage with some of the biggest names in contemporary African music, including Zlatan, ODUMODUBLVCK and Fido.
The calibre of the lineup alone speaks volumes. Zlatan commands a following of more than 7.2 million, while ODUMODUBLVCK has more than 6.3 million followers, with Fido also enjoying a rapidly expanding international fanbase.
For Jesse Flames, performing on the same platform as artist of this magnitude represents another important milestone in his journey and highlights the growing recognition of his sound within the global Afrobeats movement.
His performance résumé already includes major London venues such as OZ Academy Brixton, OUTERNET LONDON and OVO ARENA WEMBLEY, placing him in increasingly significant spaces as his profile continues to grow.
Jesse’s rise has also been accompanied by impressive streaming numbers, with his music having generated more than 15 MILLION STREAMS, alongside media coverage from notable publications as “The Guardian and Business Post Nigeria.”
What makes the journey particularly notable is that Jesse Flames is establishing himself through his own ARTISTRY, CONSISTENCY and ability to connect with audiences, rather than relying solely on his family background or associations.
More Global Collaborations on the Way
Jesse Flames is showing no signs of slowing down.
