Boom in Tertiary Education as US-Based Philanthropist Establishes Nursing Science College in Imo

The growth of tertiary education in Nigeria has received a boost with the establishment of Kings College of Nursing Science, Owerri, Imo State, by a United States–based philanthropist and indigene of the state, whose name is withheld.
The institution was founded to address persistent healthcare challenges arising from a shortage of qualified professionals, while promoting high standards in health education and training.
Located at Plot 200, Owalla road, Orji, in Owerri North Local Government Area, the college has commenced admissions for the 2026/2027 academic sessions. Qualified candidates with the requisite entry requirements are invited to apply.
Kings College of Nursing Science has obtained the necessary accreditation from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria and the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), positioning it as a fully recognized tertiary institution in Nigeria.
