As part of preparations for the 2025/2026 business year, the leadership of Bet9ja has reaffirmed its commitment to the continuous training and retraining of its agents to meet evolving business demands and address operational gaps.
The company held a business training session for its Super Agents in Owerri, Imo State, on Friday, January 29, 2026. The programme focused on quality assurance, trust, and best business practices, with top financiers and members of the group’s leadership in attendance.
Participants were urged to operate with passion, honesty, and professionalism in service delivery, while upholding the core policies and values of Bet9ja, a betting brand widely regarded as one of the leading operators in Nigeria. Emphasis was also placed on maintaining customer Care, trustworthiness, especially among their predominantly youths and intellectually inclined subscriber base.
Speaking to newsmen, Chief Dr. Obinna George Smart Unegbu, Bet9ja Grand Master for the South-East and South-South zones, said the training aligns with the company’s policy of bringing Super Agents together annually to promote synergy, evaluate performance, and introduce necessary improvements.
According to him, the initiative is designed to strengthen operations and drive the company’s broader objective of promoting sports development through increased engagement and professionalism.
Further The Aririerimba of Ihiagwa Ancient kingdom in Owerri West Local Government Area, described the meeting as timely and informative. He said it provided agents with insights into the conclusion of the 2025 business year and strategies for effective operations in 2026. He noted that the training was conducted in batches to ensure comfort, effective participation, and free expression of views.
Chief Unegbu also commended Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, for what he described as notable achievements in infrastructure development, security’s, and the restoration of peace in the state. He said these efforts contributed to a peaceful and memorable 2025 Christmas and New Year celebration.
He further stated that Bet9ja remains one of the major job-creating industries in the state, adding that each Super Agent employs no fewer than three workers. He therefore called on the state government to support the industry through multiple tax reductions, noting that the company contributes significantly to the state’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR).
Chief Unegbu reaffirmed the company’s commitment to honesty, accountability, and transparency, stressing that Bet9ja would continue to implement policies aimed at sustaining growth and preventing discouragement among its workforce.
