The election of Hon.Dr.Emeka Obi as Executive Chairman of Onuimo Local govt Area is a blessing to the people as most constituents declared during a stakeholders’ meeting at the council headquarters,Okwe recently.
Engr. Polycarp Uzoma Achumba,HOD works Department of the LGA while taking Newsmen round the council Premises in Okwe Onuimo local government Area declared that a new Jerusalem is building up in the area with the emergence of Hon. Dr. Emeka Obi as executive Chairman of the council.
The Chairman with his Midas touch started the clearing of the council Premises taken over by weeds under serious erosion menace that collapsed the perimeter fencing there by allowing external intruders who used the opportunity to vandalize window fittings and doors.
These developments prompted the executive Chairman with his Councilors to resolve to mitigate the ugly developments and there action has given Onuimo Council Secretariat a face lift.
Mr. Uzoma Achumba disclosed that Dr. Obi embarked on the reroofing of the council Hall, ICT centre and some other buildings in the Secretariat to restore people’s confidence in good governance .
Our coresspondents recalled the expansive length of the Perimeter Fencing round the council Premises which Dr . Obi’s administration decided tackling in the mist of devasting water logged environments . The structural engineer told Journalists that he Piled the foundation -ground to ensure sustainability y of the perimeter Fencings.
In a chat with Newsmen, Hon. Dr. Emeka Obi expressed Pleasures that his noble vision and resolve to add value to what his administration met on ground is being appreciated by staff and Constituents.
The Youthful grassroot executive Chairman of Onuimo stated that his headship in Onuimo has also reticulated water supply in the Premises from the Water Borehole inaddition to procurement of Numerous units of Solar street lights to Lighten up the LGA.
On other Projects , the Onuimo Council Helmsman reassured the Press that the 19 Autonomous Communities in Onuimo got fair sharing of Road grading during the last Xmas as he urged the people to continue to keep faith with the Imo state Shared Prosperity government under distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma CON. He emphasized that the renewed Hope administration is aware of other Challenges bedevilling the LGA and gave assurances that they would soon be tackled.
Chief Obi also took Journalist round the abandoned Imo state University,College of engineering Site at Umuna, where he engaged able bodied men and Youths to Clear the Premises to Ward off miscreants and Kidnapers . He admonished them to be Law abiding and to always protect government properties under them, while government strives to better the lots of the people.
It was also an opportunity for the Onuimo Council boss to reel out achievements concerning insecurities in the area. Reports by investigative Journalists affirm the great exploits of this Vibrant Executive Council Chairman ,Hon Dr. Obi who has distinguished himself employing more than 100 Youths through Carrot approach instead of weiding the stick on deviant youths in the zone.
