NJABA LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA CHAIRMAN INAUGURATES EKE OKWUDOR MARKET RECONSTRUCTIONS COMMITTEE

Good things have continued to crystalize in Njaba LGA following the selfless and visionary leadership of Chief Vitalis Ugochukwu Obi, Etiokwe Njaba, the Executive Chairman of Njaba Local Government Area.
Undeniably, market construction and remodelling comes under the purview of either the Local Government Area under whose jurisdiction the market is located or the state government. That means that irrespective of whether the market is being self-financed by the host community or private investigators, it’s administration falls under either the Local Government or State Government.
Okwudor Ancient market known across the state and beyond used to be the most vibrant centre of commerce in the entire Orlu zone, but it lost its verve and began to deteriorate both in infrastructure and patronage. The story has been so for over 50 years of the official surveying and registration of the market. However, a breather has come with the coming onboard of new sheriff.

Leading the team of Okwudor (Comprising of Ihebinama & Ihebinowerre) based Committee, Dr. Etienne Chinakwe, a first class graduate of Microbiology Department, FUTO, and a reputable grassroots leader and mobilizer. The 20-man Committee was inaugurated at Comrd. Joachim Mbama Country home, the President General of Okwudor Ihebinama ancient kingdom.
The Executive Chairman, represented by the Secretary of Njaba Local Government Area, Barr. Damian Duru Eze, commended Okwudor people for showing character and reawakening the vision of economic rebirth and for agreeing to be on the positive side of history. He commended the Executive Chairman for his vision and dedication and urged all to strive to see the project to become a reality.
Members of the Committee were drawn from all parts of Okwudor Ebenasato with the criteria of performance and inclusion.
The Chairman of the committee made his acceptance speech and promised to lead according to the vision of the Executive Chairman, the good of Okwudor Ebenasato and the government of Sen. Hope Uzodimma. He announced the different sub-committees constituted to drive the project and charged all to begin the relevant actions without any delay.
The remodelling of EKE Okwudor is a life wire for the economic and sociological rebirth of Okwudor people and Njaba Local Government Area.
Remarkably, the Local Government Area is already on course to engage the legislative processes for the reconstruction of the market and everything is going simultaneously to see that the revitalisation of Eke Okwudor market is achieved in record time.
