Great and Good People of Oji River State Constituency

Anselem Anokwute in Owerri Imo State

I bring you warm and heartfelt greetings from the Hallowed Chambers of the Enugu State House of Assembly, located in the 3 Arm Zone, Independence Layout, Enugu. Today, we celebrate a milestone that fills me with immense joy and gratitude – marking one year in office.

It is with great joy and happiness that we commemorate this occasion. Our journey over the past year has been an incredible blend of challenges and triumphs, made possible only by the grace of God and your unwavering support. Your prayers and tremendous backing have been the bedrock of our achievements, giving me more courage, faith, dedication, and commitment to serve Ndi Oji with all my heart.

Reflecting on this year, I am reminded of my campaign promises to maintain an open-door policy and bring our people closer to the government. I am proud to say that we have kept this promise through constant communication and engagement with our constituents. Our online platforms, ‘Oji River Unity Forum’ and ‘Oji River Educational Forum’, have become vital channels for keeping Ndi Oji informed and involved. We also established a Constituency Office along Achi-Oji River Road, Mile 2, where we engage physically with our constituents. Additionally, our active presence on social media—Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube—ensures daily updates and continuous interaction with Ndi Oji.

Education: Education being the bedrock of every society, recognizing this, we have fully aligned with the Disruptive Innovative Policies of His Excellency Dr. Barr. Peter Mbah by creating an enabling environment for the establishment of Green Smart Schools in our constituency. These schools are not just buildings but sanctuaries of learning, equipped with modern facilities and technology to foster academic excellence. Our commitment to education also saw us organizing free tutorial classes for SSS2/3 students preparing for WAEC and JAMB examinations all around Oji River. The overwhelming turnout and success of these classes underscore the critical role of education in shaping our future leaders.

Agriculture: The importance of food cannot be overemphasized. To ensure food sufficiency in our constituency, we encouraged and empowered some farmers with improved varieties of farm seedlings for cultivation, thereby boosting the local economy. Additionally, we sent different sets of Oji River youths to Songhai for training in best agricultural practices. Eight have graduated, and twenty are currently undergoing training. This initiative aims to equip our youth with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in modern agriculture.

SME: Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) are the backbone of any economy. Within one year in office, we have made significant strides in empowering our local entrepreneurs. We trained and empowered twenty men and women in local banking agency services. After their training, we equipped them with Point of Sale machines and seed funds to kick start their businesses. This initiative has aided in reducing unemployment and also provided financial empowerment, fostering economic growth and prosperity for Ndi Oji.

Road Intervention Programme: The condition of our roads is a vital concern for all of us. Recognizing this, we undertook the rehabilitation of some of the roads in our constituency, starting with Amankpunator Achi. This effort is just the beginning, as we plan to extend this initiative to all political wards in our constituency. Additionally, I have taken on the responsibility of monitoring the condition of federal and state roads, ensuring that any issues are promptly reported to the appropriate authorities for swift intervention. Improved road infrastructure is crucial for facilitating mobility, enhancing trade, and ensuring the overall well-being of our people.

Inter-Personal Relationships: Over the past year, I have cultivated strong working relationships with the State Executive and our National Assembly representatives at the Red and Green Chambers. These symbiotic relationships are geared towards delivering better democratic dividends to our constituents. By working together harmoniously, we can achieve greater progress and prosperity for all.

Without your prayers and support, none of this would have been possible. I pray and ask for your continued support as we strive for the greater good and progress of Ndi Oji River. Once more, I thank His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Enugu State, for his vision of prosperity and stability for Enugu State. I extend my thanks to my distinguished colleagues at the Red and Green Chambers, Senator Osita Ngwu and Chief Anayo Onwuegbu, for their dedication to duty and inspiring leadership. My warm regards also go to our Royal Fathers for their fatherly and royal support and prayers over the past year. I also extend warm regards to all the President Generals in Oji River for their collaboration and support, and also my warm regards to our spiritual fathers in Oji River.

Once again, Ndi Oji River, I owe you good and effective representation at the Hallowed Chambers.

God bless every son and daughter of Oji River.
God bless Enugu State.
God bless Nigeria.
It is well with us.

Hon Osita Eze
Member Representing Oji River State Constituency, Enugu State House of Assembly(HCT. CHM. Education, Science and Technology)
