The embattled former Minority Leader in Imo State House Assembly, Member for Isu State Constitutiency and a new Commissioner designates, Hon. Modestus Abiazie Osakwe has said bye bye to Umbrella party (People’s Democracy Party) to his New found Love, the Broom Party (All Progressives Congress) after recovery from the hot blows orchestrated from his oustered in the State Assembly by the Appeal Court.
In a Press release from Modestus MediaTeam said that the decision to joined the ruling party is born out of Hon. Osakwe’s desire to attract meaningful development to Isu State Constitutiency and proves his mentle of love to the good people of Isu local government area of Imo State by rededicating his Modesty service to the People.
The briefing reads in part, “Today 24/03/2024, in what seems like a coincidence with the celebration of Palm Sunday ( which signifies the Triumphant entry of Christ into Jerusalem) by Catholics, Hon. Modest officially resigned his membership of PDP and picked APC membership card.
“Recall that Hon. Modest had remained the only PDP Leader left in Isu with true Organic followers. It is not because of his excessive wealth, but because of his humble personality devoid of rancour. Today, he has taken a leap of switching parties for the first time in his over 15 years span of active politics. A move that has left Isu PDP and other political parties in total political mess with no rescue team in sight”
“Addressing Members of his ‘Better Life Foundation’ today in his Country home, Hon. Modest Stated, “Today, I have called you all to inform you of my well thought out decision to resign as a member of the PDP and join the All Progressive Congress. I want to reassure you of my total commitment and vision for a Better Life in Isu. The time for politicking is over and it’s time for governance. As you all know, His Excellency Gov. Hope Uzodimma has found me worthy to serve in his government despite coming from the other divide at the time of that press release, the 1st of its kind in Imo State”.
“It is a rare privilege that deserves no room for doubt in allegiance”. He read out his resignation letter to the well attended meeting of Better Lifers and country men across party lines”.
“Thereafter, he moved with his Team to the House of the Chairman of Amurie Omanze Ward 1 PDP to submit his resignation letter before proceeding to the house of the Chairman, Amurie Omanze Ward 1 APC to pick his membership card. His erstwhile Party Chairman, acknowledged the resignation letter while wishing him success in his new found party. He advised him to maintain the Character of Modesty he is known for wherever he goes”.
“Speaking at the APC ward Chairman’s house, Hon. Modest said, “today, I have come in all modesty to declare my intention and officially perfect my membership of the All Progressive Congress. I am not just joining the Party, but I am joining with my followers.”
“The Chairman who was overwhelmed by this declaration, counted him as a big addition to APC in the ward, LGA and Imo State at large. He issued him the APC membership card immediately and hinted of a subsequent date to announce the big catch to the Executives and Leaders of the ward, that will also herald his formal defection before the ward where afterwards, the LGA defection will hold with anticipated followers numbering over 2,000”.
