Amid National food Scarcity and hike in the cost of food Products, Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma has fulfilled his earlier promise to donate tons of bags of rice and dozens of vegetables oil to the state civil servants to reduce hunger.
It was momentous on Wednesday, March. 6th, 2024, at the Imo State Secretariat Owerri as lorry loaded with bags of rice arrived to offload about 450 bags, with more expected, as workers are witnessed jubilating and dancing in cheerful eyes and hoping that the palliative will take care of their basic needs and will enable them serve the State better.
Meanwhile, the Head of Service, Tpl Barr. Raymond Ucheoma, who. expressed satisfaction with the governor over his talk and do character as he promised to look after the workers well fare during the National Hardship Protests and has fulfilled the promise within the short time by provisions of the palliative.l
In his words, Barr. Ucheoma, “Remember that the Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, Imo State Council recently took to a peaceful protest against the obvious hunger in Imo land, and the Governor, in his wisdom, has paid keen interest in solving the problem of hunger among government workers.”
“We are very grateful to the government of Imo Shared Prosperity led by Governor Uzodimma. From the rice released by the governor, we now have enough to distribute to all our staffers. Uzodimma is known for his promise-fulfilled kind of person. He is a man of his words.”
“We are excited about the rice. We have over 37,000 Imo workers who are going to benefit from the largesse. We now have enough to make everybody happy. We are always committed to delivering efficiently as usual, and we continue to show commitment,” the Head of Service,
The perfect gentleman and a legal luminary and a trained Estate and Regional Planner, Barrister Raymond Ucheoma promised evenly distributions of the palliative to Imo workers which he said that are over 35000 members and assured that the governor provided enough food items to cover the numbers and re-emphasied that other food items such as maize , beans and nuddles will also be available soon.
