Former Imo State Commissioner for CGC Culture and Traditional Affairs and Rural Environment and Lands Development and Special Adviser to the Administration of Governor Hope Uzodimma on Environment, Chief Liwy Duru, Onunaekwuruoha of Umuaka, has thrown his weight behind the candidacy of Engineer Ike Christian kemka, popularly known as Engr. K.K., of Umuezeala Nnerim in Isu Local Government Area, for the Federal House of Representatives for Action People’s Party APP
kemka is the Action Peoples Party (APP) candidate for the Isu/Njaba/Nkwerri/Nwangele Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections.
Duru, who spoke on the political development, said he identified with kemka because of their shared commitment to improving the living conditions of the people and promoting development in their communities.
According to him, the constituency requires a representative with character, integrity, accessibility, professional competence and the capacity to attract meaningful development.
He said, the people of the constituency had prevailed on kemka to come forward and serve, having witnessed his contributions to the development of the area through his personal resources.
Duru maintained that with the opportunity to serve in the National Assembly, kemka would be in a better position to do more for the people, stressing that his professional background as a trained engineer and his record of service would place him in a strong position to provide effective representation.
He said: “Our people called on him because we need change. The people need somebody with character, integrity, accessibility and professional competence. If you are looking for someone with these qualities, then Engr. Ike Christian kemka should be considered as a first choice for the National Assembly seat.”
Duru further urged voters across the federal constituency to support the APP candidate, saying that the people deserved a representative who would make their interests a priority and address what he described as existing gaps in legislative representation.
He added that the campaign team was adequately prepared to mobilise support for kemka and ensure that the constituency had a strong voice at the National Assembly.
Duru also expressed confidence that kemka would build on the representation provided by the incumbent lawmaker, Barrister Harrison Nwadike, and provide a fresh approach to constituency representation in the 11th National Assembly.
Meanwhile, kemka, a retired international driller, assured the people of Isu/Njaba/Nkwerri/Nwangele Federal Constituency that his ambition was driven by the desire to serve rather than personal or family interests.
He said he was adequately prepared to represent the people and respond to their yearnings for effective representation and tangible dividends of democracy.
Kemka explained that throughout his career, he had consistently used his position and resources to contribute to humanity, stressing that public service, for him, was an avenue to further impact lives.
He urged the people to remain united and support his aspiration, assuring them that, if elected, he would passionately and selflessly pursue programmes and projects capable of improving the lives of constituents and attracting meaningful development to the area.
He appealed to the electorate to look beyond political sentiments and consider competence, character, integrity, accessibility and proven capacity in choosing their representative.
kemka, popularly known as Engr. K.K., expressed optimism that, with the support of the people and by the grace of God, he would emerge victorious and use the mandate to provide purposeful representation for the Isu/Njaba/Nkwerri/Nwangele Federal Constituency.
