An aspirant for the Ohaji/Egbema, Oguta and Oru West Federal Constituency on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Uju Kingsley Chima, has reassured his constituents of effective and quality representation if elected into the House of Representatives.

Hon. Uju, who represented the constituency in the 9th House of Representatives, gave the assurance while speaking with journalists at the Government House, Owerri, shortly after a meeting of APC aspirants and stakeholders convened by Governor Hope Uzodimma ahead of the party’s House of Representatives primaries scheduled for May 15, 2026.

He said his decision to seek a return to the National Assembly was informed by his passion to continue serving the people and consolidating on his previous achievements in office.

According to him, the people of the constituency have remained supportive and committed to his political journey over the years.

“My constituents love me so much, and I appreciate them because they have always stood by me. When they sent me to the National Assembly, it was through their massive support. Even during the last election, they expressed their displeasure over the process, but we moved on,” he stated.

The former Imo State Commissioner for Lands, Survey and Physical Planning recalled that during his previous tenure in the National Assembly, the constituency benefited from legislative advocacy, empowerment programmes and constituency projects aimed at improving the welfare of the people.

He pledged to surpass his previous performance if given another opportunity to serve.

“Now that we are beginning a new process, I can assure my constituents that with commitment, sincerity and dedication, I will serve them diligently, and I am confident that victory is assured,” he said.

Speaking on the outcome of the stakeholders’ meeting, Hon. Uju expressed satisfaction with Governor Uzodimma’s assurance that the APC primaries would be transparent, free and fair.

“We met with Governor Hope Uzodimma to discuss the modalities for tomorrow’s primaries, and I am glad to leave with the assurance that the process will be free and fair. The governor has assured all aspirants of a level playing ground,” he added.

He further appealed to APC members and delegates across Ohaji/Egbema, Oguta and Oru West Federal Constituency to support his aspiration, assuring them of inclusive leadership, victory at the polls and better representation.
