TMO Unveils Dual 2027 Strategy as Chima Amadi Eyes Senate, Governorship Under APP

By Anselem Anokwute

The Mazi Organization (TMO) has announced a strategic political roadmap for its principal, Dr. Chima Matthew Amadi, confirming his intention to contest the Owerri Zone Senate seat in the January 2027 general elections and the Imo State governorship election slated for November 2027 under the platform of the Action Peoples Party (APP).

The disclosure was made during a press briefing convened to clarify recent public discourse surrounding Dr. Amadi’s political trajectory ahead of the 2027 electoral cycle.

According to the organization, the dual ambition is a deliberate and well-thought-out strategy anchored on political realism, clarity of purpose, and a commitment to building a formidable political movement in Imo State.

“This is not a decision borne out of uncertainty; rather, it is rooted in clarity of purpose, political realism, and a deep commitment to building a durable and winning movement,” a spokesperson of TMO stated.

TMO explained that Imo State’s off-cycle governorship election, which comes months after the general elections, provides a unique opportunity to adopt a phased political approach. It noted that contesting the Senate seat first would enable Dr. Amadi to strengthen grassroots engagement across the 27 local government areas, provide visible leadership, and establish a strong presence at the federal level ahead of the governorship race.

The organization described the approach as “tested and proven” in Nigeria’s political landscape, citing precedents in states such as Edo and Bayelsa where similar strategies have been successfully deployed.

Speaking at the briefing, the Director-General of TMO, Chief Henry Onwukwe (Apiti Uzo-Ubi) expressed confidence in Dr. Amadi’s capacity and credentials.

“Mazi Chima Amadi stands out among all aspirants in Imo State. He possesses the experience, competence, and political strength required to lead. His track record in philanthropy and community development speaks volumes,” he said.

Chief Apiti Uzo-Ubi highlighted several interventions attributed to Dr. Amadi, including support for educational institutions, payment of school fees for over 300 students, settlement of hospital bills reportedly exceeding N80 million, empowerment of market women, provision of housing for the underprivileged, donation of vehicles, and assistance to victims of the Toronto Junction incident in Uruatta Owerri North LGA.

He maintained that such initiatives demonstrate Dr. Amadi’s readiness to govern the state.

The Mazi Organization concluded by calling for unity among supporters and stakeholders, urging the people of Imo State to embrace the proposed political pathway as a continuous journey, beginning with Senate representation and culminating in what it described as transformational leadership at Douglas House.
