Celebrations of Life: Nwankwo Family Gathers to Honour Prince Linus Nwankwo on his 80th Birthday

The Nwankwo Anyanwu family from Akpuru Nneorie Autonomous Community in Ngor Okpala Local Government Area, Imo State, recently gathered to celebrate a momentous occasion, the 80th birthday of their beloved patriarch, Prince Linus Nwankwo.
The surprise event, organized by the family, was held at Rockview Hotel, Owerri, on Friday 3, April 2026, attended by a selected persons including family members, in-laws, friends, and well-wishers. The celebration honoured the remarkable life of the octogenarian, who was praised for his legacy of love, leadership, and faith.
Chief Sebastian Nwankwo Anyanwu Gidigbam, former President General of Akpuru Nneorie and a senior member of the larger Nwankwo Anyanwu family, spoke highly of his elder brother, Prince Linus. He described him as a father, grandfather, and a true Christian leader, whose commitment to peace and harmony has been an inspiration to all. Chief Nwankwo shared that his brother’s perseverance and peaceful nature have profoundly impacted him and shaped his own approach to family and life.
In his remarks, Mr. Ikechukwu Nwankwo, son, expressed gratitude for the life lessons he had learned from his father, particularly his values of hard work, accountability, and resilience. “My father’s lifestyle and integrity have set a standard for us all,” he said.
Numerous family members and friends shared heartwarming testimonies about Prince Linus, who, at 80, continues to enjoy good health and the support of a loving family. His wife described their union as divine and fulfilling, noting how God had blessed their journey together.
Mr. Chike Nwankwo, the third son, explained that the celebration was a surprise gesture to honour their father’s lifelong commitment to raising them in a Christian environment. “Our father has always been an exemplary figure, and this celebration is a way for us to thank him for his guidance,” he said.
Daughter Mrs. Kola Joseph shared that she had affectionately nicknamed her father “The Youngest Prince,” owing to his enduring passion, love, and kindness toward both immediate and extended family members. She also expressed her gratitude to her siblings for organizing such a special event in recognition of their father’s efforts in raising them.
The Nwankwo Anyanwu family is well-regarded in the Akpuru Nneorie community for its strong legacy and outstanding personalities. The family’s network extends across Nigeria, with connections to notable individuals, including son-in-law Pastor Joseph, Prof. Linus Okere of Imo State University, Rev. Father Okere, and many others.
Prince Linus Nwankwo’s 80th birthday celebration served as a poignant reminder of the values of faith, family, and perseverance that have guided the Nwankwo Anyanwu family through the generations.
Responding Prince Linus Nwankwo said that he owns the gratitude to God Almighty in him he depends on his days and called on the people to always depend on God. He said that the only secret of longevity is remembering God everyday in prayer before going out and appreciate God as when ones you are back. He offered special prayer for his children grandchildren family members friends and well wishers.
