Malaga, Spain – The highly anticipated 2025 Mbaise Europe Annual Convention has officially commenced, marking a significant cultural and unifying event for Mbaise indigenes across Europe. The convention celebrates the rich heritage of the Mbaise people—comprising Aboh, Ezinihitte, and Ahiazu Mbaise Local Government Areas of Imo State, Nigeria—and aims to strengthen ties among those in the diaspora while fostering development back home.
A major highlight of the convention’s opening was the arrival of the Royal Father of the event, His Royal Majesty Eze (Amb.) Dr. Okwudiri Divine Nwandu, the Akaraka III of Ihitteafoukwu Ancient Kingdom. This marks one of his first international engagements since his coronation, and he was warmly received by the Mbaise Europe community.
In a statement released by his media aide, Dim Emeka Obasi, the convention—scheduled to run from August 28 to 30 in Malaga—is described as the largest gathering of Mbaise sons and daughters in Europe. It serves as a critical platform to promote cultural pride, unity, and socioeconomic collaboration among the diaspora.
Eze Nwandu, a respected traditional ruler, successful businessman, and global advocate for Mbaise unity, was welcomed at the venue by the President of Mbaise Europe, Hon. Kingsley Ajunwa Njoku, and members of the Convention Planning Committee. Organizers expressed satisfaction with the turnout and level of preparedness for the three-day event.
Speaking during his welcome reception, Eze Nwandu emphasized the importance of diaspora engagement in the development of Mbaise land.
“The future of Mbaise lies in our hands. This convention is not just a reunion; it is a movement—a call to action for unity, growth, and legacy,” the royal father declared.
As activities begin in earnest, expectations are high for vibrant cultural displays, constructive dialogue, and strategic initiatives aimed at reinforcing community bonds and supporting sustainable development projects in Mbaise.
With the presence of Eze Nwandu and the enthusiastic participation of the Mbaise diaspora, the 2025 Mbaise Europe Convention is poised to be both historic and impactful.
