Inline with the Governor Senator Hope Uzodimma’s new vision to curb insecurity, secured government property within the Council’s in a Worried by the wave of the previous damage and it’s attendant economic and social implications ravaging Okigwe zone and Imo state at large, Hon. Dr. Emeka Obi, Executive Chairman of Onuimo Local government Council, Imo state has initiated “Carrot approach instead of welding the stick ”on society deviants in his Local government area rather sets to galvanize abled men for onerous security jobs.
The Local government boss who summoned all President -Generals, Councillors , Women Leaders, Traditional Rulers, youth leaders, and religious leaders in the autonomous communities in Onuimo at a stakeholders forum in the council Premises resolved to dissolve their former Vigilantes and constitute a new Fifteen Member Stronger Security body in each of the 19 autonomous Communities that will henceforth work in synergy with the government for assured Community Securities of the People and properties.
The Onuimo Local government helmsman told the audience that federal and state governments have given his administration instructions to return Peace and tranquility to Onuimo as recent Security breaches have worsened the economic and social life of Onuimo people and their environs.
He observed that most perpetrators of the criminalities are natives brainwashed and misled by Society never do-wells .
“We are going to ensure adequate renumeration for the new Security Vigilantes in addition to extra 15 members for the Council Premises” , he said. Chief Obi who earlier was seen with more than 1,000 able bodied Youths and Traditional Rulers of the council at the near- abandoned Imo state University of Agriculture Site Umunna, Onuimo ordered for Clearing and Cleaning of the Premises.
He told the Youths that the Property belongs to Onuimo and must be properly supervised, Maintained and Protected from Vandals and Criminals who hitherto converted it into hide out for Nefarious acts such as Kidnapping, hemp Smoking etc.
I charge you all not to over do things as my government under distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma CON will Protect your life and our image, provided your acts are under the ambit of the Law.

HRH EZE C. N. Eze of Okpala Aboh Umuna Onuimo Local government area who spoke on behalf of traditional rulers asked for collaboration of well to do people with the government. He said selection of Members of the security Vigilantes must have PGs and Eze’s inputs .
Hon. Dr. OBI used the occasion to inform Onuimo People distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma ‘s renewed efforts in providing affordable Health Insurance Programmes in all the 305 Wards in Imo state.
Interestingly, my administration is offering about 100 Chances for Free Health Insurance scheme in Onuimo LGA. While some of our Leaders like Hon. James Esele , representing Onuimo in the state House of Assembly, from Umucheke paid for 200 People as to hundred for Umucheke, with the remaining hundred for other 18 Autonomous Communities, Our brother former Speaker IMHA. Rt. Hon. Paul Emeziem gave 100 and Our Federal Law Maker, Hon. Miriam Onuoha gave Onuimo people 1000 sloths and when we gathered it together it’s about one thousand three and it’s going to be shared amongst the Entire Autonomous Community as we Expect more.
Expressing satisfaction with the development, Dr. Obi said that the governor Senator Hope Uzodimma has done great in the State that only demand collective efforts and collaboration to support him. Onuimo Local Government Area of Imo State is a beneficiary of the Governor’s good heart and legacies.
