The Imo State government, under the Governor Senator Hope Uzodimma, is set to transform, renovate primary and junior secondary school buildings across the state’s 305 wards.
The Imo State Universal Basic Education Board (IMSUBEB) Executive Chairman, Hon. Chidiebere Egbo, announced this initiative, citing the governor’s Three Rs mantra (Reconstruction, Rehabilitation, and Recovery) as the driving force behind the project.
Egbo attributed the current dilapidated state of schools to previous administrations, emphasizing that the current government has made significant efforts to renovate primary schools despite the challenges.
The governor’s plan includes building, renovating, and equipping schools to meet basic education standards.
The IMSUBEB chairman expressed confidence in the governor’s ability to deliver on his promises, describing him as a “talk and do” person.
He also called on the public to collaborate with the government in restoring the schools to their former glory.
This initiative aims to improve the basic education system in Imo State, providing a better learning environment for students and enhancing the overall quality of education.
