Terrible:Njaba LGA Son Allegedly Commits Suicide

A tragic incident has occurred in Umuaka Community, Njaba Local Government Area of Imo State, Nigeria. Engr. Angus Chidi Anokwute, a young computer engineer and son of the late Paa Lazarus Anokwute, was found dead in an alleged suicide last Saturday 4 January 2025 hanging beside a perimeter fence wall in his father’s house.
Circumstances surrounding the death are suspicious, and community members are calling for a thorough investigation by the police and other security agencies. The community is shocked and disturbed by the incident, describing the deceased as intelligent and questioning the official narrative of suicide and called on the CP Aboki Danjuma of Imo State Police Command and DSS officials to investigate the matter properly.
Concerns have been raised about the haste with which the deceased was buried, allegedly without proper investigation or involvement of security operatives. Community members are urging the authorities to look into the matter and ensure that justice is served.
The incident has sparked outrage and calls for accountability, with many questioning the circumstances surrounding the death and the handling of the aftermath.
Efforts made to contact some of the community leaders and the Local Government Area Council of Njaba Executive Chairman, Chief Vitalis Ugochukwu Obi (Etiokwe) failed at the time of filling the report.
