The commendations and encomium has continued to pour to a passionate and cheerful giver and philosophists John-Paul Ochemba for his great contributions to the growth of Journalism profession in Imo State visa vie South East by the Horn groups in Collaborations with South East media Practitioners.

The Humanitarian Service award was bestowed on him during the 2024 Media Summit and Awards Ceremony organized by the South East Media Practitioners at Rockview Hotel.

Recently, John-Paul Ochemba was honoured by both Northern And South East Youth Council of Nigeria first recipient of Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe and Tafawa, Belewa Awards for his humanitarian and philosophists gestures as a true Nigeria.

In his subtle voice with commanding action eluted the journalists who saw him as a role model and one who was not a government appointee but interested in contributing to the growth of the state through his personal resources.

Responding John Paul Ochemba thanked the organizers for the award and went straight to advise Imo Journalists on the need for the unity of purpose and promises to put an end to the factions by letting the cat out of the bag.

According to him, “There are two factions in Imo Media Practitioners, whether you like it or not, that’s the truth”. But some people shouted ‘No’.

He went ahead to advise Chief Bright Chimezie Njoku to constitute a committee that would be saddled with the responsibility of bringing the two factions together, promising to fund the exercise.
He promised to advance in his contributions to the growth of Journalism profession in Imo State if only the journalists will remain united as one body.
