As INEC Recognizes Edozie Njoku as party’s national chairman.

In a bid to ensure flawless participation in the forthcoming Imo LGA polls, the All Progressives Grand Alliance, (APGA) has notified the Imo State Chapter of the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC) and the Imo State Independent Electoral Commission (ISIEC) of a change in the party’s leadership in the state
The party also served same notice to the Army, the Police, the Department of State Security Service (DSS), as well as the Imo State Inter Party Advisory Council ( IPAC), urging them to recognize only Chief Edozie Njoku’s approved or reciognized state executive committee of the party
The party made this known at a press briefing held by a delegation of it’s National Working Committee (NWC) led by the national secretary, Muhyideed Imam, in Owerri on Thursday, 1st August, 2024.
According to Muhyideed Imam, the essence of the briefing was to inform relevant agencies, authorities and the public in the state that the Independent National Electoral Commission has recognized Chief Edozie Njoku as the authentic National Chairman of APGA as his name is currently on the commission’s official website .
He pointed out that as a result of the change in the party’s national leadership, the state leadership of the party had also been changed, saying that a 10- man caretaker committee led by Chief Vincent Amadi is the authentic executive committee of the party in Imo State
He therefore, advised Imolites particularly those aspiring to contest the September, 21, LG election on the platform of APGA to shun Bar. John Iwuala’s led state exco and embrace Chief Vincent Amadi’s led state exco to avoid being defrauded
He further enjoined aspirants who had already obtained the party’s nomination and expression of interest forms from the out gone executive of Iwuala to rush to the party’s new state secretariat at No. 144 Wetheral Road, Owerri for regularization and revalidation of their forms to prevent any form of nullification or disqualification.
Other members of the new caretaker Committee of the party include Kingsley Osigwe, Henry Opara, Henry Eweama, Philip Onye, Basil Eneremadu, Henry Oparaocha
In his remarks, the party’s National Vice Chairman (SouthEast), Hon. Engr. Tony Uchechukwudi Ezekwelu, stated that the party would accommodate all members for the party to cruise to electoral victory in the LG election and other elections across the nation
Recall that the Supreme Court, in a landmark judgement, had recently declared Chief Edozie Njoku the authentic national chairman of APGA after over 6 years of legal battle.
Also in the delegation was the National Executive Secretary of the party, Ben Chinedum Okoro
